6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageAaliyah Guerrier1 review7 years agoBeing a student here all four years literally was probably the worst experience I have ever had this school honestly only cares if you are bringing something good to their name. A lot of teachers here do not teach they don't care if you pass or fail because they're only in it for the money. I had a physics teacher that I asked so kindly to change because he wasn't doing his job and I've always asked for help but he had no clue what he was doing . Everyone always tried to turn it on me like I wasn't doing anything but previous classes have told me that he was the worst teacher. That wasn't my only incident with a bad teacher. My sophomore English teacher was pretty bad as well he didn't teacher either. This school is also filled with rude people it's a very diverse school but there is groups other races don't really talk to each other like that. In my opinion I would not ever send my child to this school for the simple fact that they would have to teach themselves all four years. And it's always your fault at this school. / Everything what Aaliyah wrote is exactly what my kids experienced.Parent Review2mo ago - Fairview South Elementary School

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWe have two children at Fairview and overall, our experience has been very good. The teachers are excellent and work very hard to ensure students are learning and if they fall behind, teachers are available for extra assistance. Communication with parents is also very good with teachers regularly apprising parents of their child's progress vis-a-vis classroom learning and standardized testing. Fairview is currently completing a significant construction project with new classrooms and library and overall, the facilities appear to be comprehensive, comfortable for students and conducive to their learning. One complaint is the quality of the school lunches. Our kids find the meals to be small and not very appetizing. Although we've not discussed this with administrators, we suspect the issue is related to budgeted resources, perhaps at the state level. Though a great school overall, we would prefer to see Fairview focus more time and energy on traditional teaching and learning areas, i.e, classic literature and American history that unites rather than dividing students on the basis of race or ethnicity. We are not happy that current politics and social theory is being introduced into the classroom and curriculum, often indoctrinating rather then educating young children. Schools should be teaching kids how to think critically, not WHAT to think based on radical and often divisive dogma.Parent Review6mo ago - Check out schools near 7711 Kenton St.
