We had a Great experience at harmon middle school

This school is fine if you never have any issues. It has a history of racial discrimination that continues to permeate the current staff. The school staff treat parents with a condescending tone that is on pa with how they talk to students. Although it’s in a “good” school district, beware the issues that exist beneath the surface. The student to staff ratio is high and the resources are lacking. Avoid this school and school district at ALL COST!

My son went to this school a year ago, unfortunately he hated this school, so we wanted to moved to another junior high school, and we chose Ridgeview, and he loves Ridgeview, he is graduating from Ridgeview school and finally got assistance, he even got more oppurtinites, since he loves math he was able to do geometry with such good scores at Ridgeview with an awesome teacher and the staff is awesome, I even loved the orchestra teacher especially, I don't recommend this school out of my son's straight up opinions and there wasn't as much communication between one of his science teachers.

The students at this school are crazy. No one is keen to learn, which is normal to expect, but it's a relatively big problem in this school. On the other hand, I feel bad for the teachers-- I'd quit if I had to teach these students, but they do their best. The social/emotional support at this school is good, or not good. . I've never had a specific opinion on it. The special education aspect is good, too (very supportive, great teachers). On the subject of "violence", I figure fights in any American high school is normal, so I don't really care because it doesn't usually affect me. Although, fights are DEFINITELY normal in this school-- much better than Pickerington Central, though. As for family engagement, the school does try to involve the parents, but the parents, IN MY OBSERVATIONS, do not care. This doesn't speak for everyone. . . All the praise goes to the staff, teachers, administrators, they have the hardest job (especially after COVID-19).
