", not allowed any pets and I don’t own one at this time. One maybe nice for company but it is what it is"
  • Trulia User
"I used to live very close to this section and the area is very very safe. No arrests that I know of or drug running that I know of. Most of the people are middle to upper middle class and I went to school in this area and to Marshall University living with family in this area. It’s safe and quiet. "
  • Trulia User
"I live in a beautiful, SAFE area of Huntington that is not too far from places to go but I use dial a ride to go places. The stores are close and I am on the edge of Huntington and Barboursville. So it’s safe here. "
  • Dpfjpk6ncq
"My commute would be described as being smooth and calm and light traffic all throughout the day except during rush hour "
  • Carl Tweel
"A lot of open areas and parks to walk in as long as you pick up after the dogs plus there is a dog park with space for little dogs and large dogs."
  • Linda Craig Duncan
"Be aware and considerate of neighbors. Keep your dogs inside if they are barkers. Pick up after them when you walk them. Check on elderly neighbors, especially during power outages. God bless and Merry Christmas!"
  • Linda Craig Duncan
"Neighbors are friendly and actively take care of their property for curb appeal. Pets are quiet. My community doesn’t have special events."
  • Trulia User
"Does kept on a leash owners clean up after them no barking at night dogs are friendly most dogs a always behind fences "
  • Trulia User
"Nice neighborhood to walk your dogs. But the dog owners don’t always pick up after their dogs. There are also pitbulls in the neighborhood."
  • Trulia User
"I love my neighborhood. I feel safe here. I do wish cars wouldn't drive down the hill so fast. If I walked along the main road with my dog I would have to keep a tight leash. "
  • Kylee M.
"Good schools and lots of families to mingle and jingle with. There are many fun things for families to do "
  • Henry C.
"Friendly area for dogs & very few loose dogs. The city has a leash, if dog is out of fenced yard it must be on a leash."
  • Ryan N.
"Buses run everyday but Sunday and Lyft and Uber are assessable. Walmart and the mall area are included in bus routes as well."
  • Shaunte P.
"It’s downtown and very close to everything (Marshall University, Pullman Square, etc) You really don’t need a car where I live you can walk around safely and get food entertainment and do much more"
  • Taylor F.
"East Pea is really low crime area, very safe. Close to everything! Fairly quiet for being so close to city."
  • Olu I.
"no sidewalks for dog walking anywhere in this neighborhood. have to go to park or have yard to exercise dog. lots of dead animals in roads."
  • JC
"Lots of friendly dogs in the neighborhood. Sometimes people let their dogs off leash which is a little nerve wracking but they’re all friendly so far "
  • Jr M.
"peace and quiet, good schools privacy neighbors parking garage fun quiet neighbors close to work good clean houses "
  • Chyenne N.
"There is a lot of people walking around a lot of the time. There is not a lot of fenced in yards but you could put one up I guess. I see a lot of stray dogs or atleast dogs off the leash so that is kind of worrying to me. But I haven’t seen anything bad come of that issue. There is a great dog park at Rittor Park it’s big and clean and very nice. I don’t think it’s too big of a deal having a dog or not. I don’t see dog poop around and at the parks and trails there are poop bags which is very convenient. "
  • Jayla B.
"My neighborhood never does anything. We don’t talk to each other, we leave each other alone. They let their animals roam all over the place and it’s hard to drive on backroads because of that. We never say hi or ask each other for favors. If I was in a pinch I would not rely on any of them. "
  • Jr M.
"space. friendly neighborhood, close to shopping, parks , schools close, large yard, pet friendly , "
  • Skalonick
"Never feel unsafe in this area, we ride bikes here every day. Love area. Our kids want us to move to Cincinnati but we love Huntington. "
  • Jennifer B.
"Spring Valley is like living in the country but still close to town. I live close to all of the schools and the VA hospital, my neighbors are not close but close enough to wave and say hi"
  • D P
"Government officials are terrible. Good ol boy rules city state county and judicial. Some service is good like trash collection and police and fire but that’s about it. If you have a complaint it go’s to file 13."
  • Jayla B.
"Let’s be honest, there is nothing unique about this city. We have pretty views if you got to the right place, but most of it is run down or getting there."
  • Stacy M.
"Like any major city, living in Huntington is all about what block you live on. Some are the most wonderful communities, others are so dangerous I wouldn’t even drive through there after 10 PM. "
  • Fionacharlot
"Neighborhood is pretty scary especially at night with all the homelessness and drug problems. There is always some kind of shooting going on. "
  • Christine S.
"Ritter park, live music events, local restaurants, shopping, and coffee. The events for dog owners (Easter egg hunt, costume contests) and the outdoor amphitheater, festivals"
  • Kyranichole823
"We don’t really have any events around the community. We do sometimes have 5ks to rally around a cause or raise money for a cause. "
  • Breezy J.
"there's always work for the police. you'll always be shopping because you can't keep any thing due to thrives and you'll always have new tires because they like to slash them around here"
  • Jordyn M. H.
"When I lived here I was about 25 minutes from school. I was also about 15 minutes from work. 20 mins or so from Walmart and about 30 minutes from the mall."
  • Carl A. T.
"there a lot of good spots in the neighborhood. but some bad ones too. the biggest let down has been the drugs and users in the areas."
  • Bigt1191
"Secluded and quiet and suitable for our lifestyle. Can do what we want when we want. Lots of good views of wildlife. "
  • April M.
"Huntington is a mixed bag, it can be beautiful and it has a healthy amount of good people. However we also have a significant amount of drug use and down trodden areas. "
  • Michael H.

"we dont have anything like that just children who play around cars occassionly scratching and renting them because they are careless and the parents don't supervise them "
  • Sierra L.
"nothing in my community to make it special for children. living in a neighborhood that has alot of crimes"
  • Amy W.
