"I ve lived here 38 years and never so much as a loud noise problem in the summer time. No loud cars are tolerated and people are good about acknowledging each other "
  • Taylor_lamp
"It’s to close to the road and people drive too fast down the street and there is a lot of homeless people "
  • Mylak
"Downtown is a bit over a mile and walkable. A few restaurants down there, new children’s hands on museum. I drive everywhere. "
  • Trulia User

  • Trulia User

  • Delila A. .
"Some parts are nice but others not so much. It’s important to look at the surrounding houses and weather or not they are trashy "
  • Mej_888@icloud.com
"Various activities planned throughout the year within the community by several area groups with many of them being free or low cost. "
  • Christina
"There are not many community events Some small businesses have events but there really isn’t much to do especially for older children and teens. "
  • Jess.nicole13
"It is a very small town, but safe for the most part. It doesn’t really have any activities for children or adults to be involved in. There isn’t much knowledge of culture here either. I do like the short commute you have to go anywhere within the city. "
  • Bosoamanda
"Live in Vienna! Less drugs and crime! Friendly neighbors in upper Vienna that welcome all! It cost a little more but for good reason and is on edge of Parkersburg!"
  • Chris C.
"It’s a safe, family friendly area. Good place for families. The schools are very good. Close to shopping."
  • Adfreed
"Everyone obeys the leash laws and cleans up after their dogs. You can walk your dog without fear of a neighbors dog not being on leash or attacking when outside "
  • Akimes1977
"People walk their dogs almost daily in my neighborhood. Everyone in the neighborhood is friendly and almost everyone in it seems to have dog/dogs or some kind of pet. "
  • Christine K.
"I don't like it in Parkersburg a lot of drama a lot of drug I want to move but don't have the money to "
  • Jeff M.
"Avoid this area. Employers are leaving as quickly as they can. Homes are extremely overpriced for the median income of 40k yearly. Avoid! "
  • Lisa B.
"Short and quick. Traffic is mostly light even at 5:00pm quitting time unless you are going to Mineral Wells. "
  • Jeff M.
"Soon to be a ghost town. high taxes, mostly low income town. drugs are a serious problem and so are the roads. Moving away soon "

"Disrespectful youth throw trash around and use foul language, out all hours of the night, loud arguments heard late at night. Loud toys & vehicles after dark. Lots of traffic. No respect of property boundaries. "
  • nunya
"Petty theft (don’t leave anything outside unless you’re ok with it walking off. Disrespectful neighbors. Some drugs. "
  • Trulia User
"Parkersburg has gone down hill the longer I live here. If it weren’t for personal reasons I would honestly move away"
  • Mismar88

  • Melissa S.
"I like the homes on my block but not the surrounding neighborhoods and streets. I seem to get a great deal of thefts and weird loud people walking these streets!! "
  • Amanda
"Parkersburg is trying to offer more cultural events - farmer's markets, wine festival, local food festivals, etc. It's a nice town and people are generally friendly, but it's a little too politically conservative for my taste. I was born and raised here, and it will always feel like "home," but I don't think I could live here again."
  • Melissa m.
"My neighborhood could be a great neighborhood if they continue to keep up with the roads and old houses are either torn down or fixed up"
  • Aliisuee18
"They'd have other dogs to play with cause every house or every other hpuse has a dog. The neighborhoods are very pet friendly."
  • James L.
"the roads are horrid. You move here be prepared to replace tires. Wood county or Parkersburg, being outside city limits has for the most part ignored our streets doing less than the minimum to maintain."
  • Beverly g.
"Great neighbors who watch out for each other! Close to stores and restaurants. Most of the houses are well kept."
  • Bobbijorexroad
"A wide variety of people walk around all hours. So anyone should be able to find someone with similar interests "
  • Sarah
"I like North Parkersburg because there’s more green space and less traffic but still amenities in close proximity."
