About this House

3 bedrooms 1 1/2 baths 2 fireplaces Open concept formal dining Breakfast nook Den 2 staircases 2 car garage/street level 2,625 sq. ft home11,424 Sq. ft. lot ( lot and a half) The romance of Old California is embodied in this unique 2 story 1923 Spanish home cherished for 48 years by legendary Disney artist, Nino Carbe', member of the Academy of Motion Pictures and illustrator of the 1936 copy of Frankenstein. An oasis atop a dramatic stone stairway winding through a woodsy hillside in Glendale's prestigious, star-studded Rossmoyne area. The home echoes with music and art. High ceilings, grand windows, 2 arched staircases flood the home with light. A trove of built-ins rarely seen in modern homes. Imagine vivid sunsets, blazing fires crackling in a baronial fireplace, raised glasses in candlelit dining room or den; tea on the 2nd floor terrace, scent of roses, citrus, jasmine, breathtaking views; shady forecourt, soothing sounds from the fish pond's fountain. Come home to sanctuary. Imagine. Like all old souls, the home has creaky joints, frayed edges, yet a discerning person with vision will need it. Imagine.

"Calm, friendly and safe area. Our kids can walk to school or anywhere they need to go. There are many neighbours walking with dogs, but it’s still clean on the streets. The park is close to go but there’s no lights after the sunset. "
  • Migdia C.
"Lots of groomed leashed dogs in the area most are well mannered — I would make sure drivers on mountain cone to a full stop before crossing "
  • Migdia C.
"I’ve lived here for many years and own a historic home -/ it’s a gorgeous safe neighborhood of established trees and well kept upscale properties. Short drive to amenities and parks "
  • Trulia User
"The neighborhood goes all out for Halloween. The happening areas are near enough to walk to. There are a lot of trees lining the streets, and it’s great for jogging."
  • Destiny E.
"Rossmoyne is a wonderful area to have and walk a dog. However, there are many coyotes around so you must be aware and carful too. "
  • Predi G.
"Not only parents also pet owners. There are a lot of cayoties living around here make sure to use leash for the dogs and be careful of kids if you have a back yard. "
  • Mariam Z.
"I lived here for 2 years. Very clean area with nice neighbors. Spacious living and safe feeling. Police always patrol around the area too and you feel good knowing they are around "
  • Ian A.
"It’s a very nice, quiet neighborhood. People are generally friendly, not necessarily super outgoing but nice. It’s clean."
  • Rpetevanderveen
"Great parks, purple walking all day and evening, lots of dogs, nice ethnic mix of residents, eclectic houses, no two the same, very safe, friendly neighbors, close to freeways, downtown, laid back, high level of home maintenance, mature trees everywhere "
  • Rpetevanderveen
"I've lived in this neighborhood for almost a decade. I have great neighbors, we watch out for each other and every one is friendly. I often walk the neighborhood at night and have never felt unsafe. I walk to the grocery store, downtown, to the post office, to the park, to restaurants, etc. Everyone is friendly and greets each other. I like the fact that the neighborhood is very eclectic, diverse, quiet, and everyone maintains their homes and lawns and gardens. I have had numerous wild animals in my yard, including coyotes, deer, raccoons, a lynx, and opossum, but have never been concerned. It's a great place!"
  • Ladub M.
"Has gotten worse over the last 3-4 years. No accessible metro train to Hollywood and Beverly Hills. So seems public transportation is available to downtown la commuters."
