"Quick 20 minutes to the city "
  • Catherine_rockwood
"I often see people walk their dogs. There is a dog park a few blocks away. Many houses have dogs. However there are no sidewalks, but it is not an issue."
  • Catherine_rockwood
"People are life timers and friendly. They decorate for holidays and watch out for their neighbors. We enjoy living here."
  • Korey Lewis
"I’ve been here for five years. It’s moderately diverse but overall a great place. Great schools, low crime, just traffic during rush hours and they’re working on it. "
  • Jaidygough74
"I like the school education because they maintain a good rate. I recommended the educational system in this area."
  • Thalasr
"Safe public areas and good school system. Low crime rate. Everything you need without having to leave town. Friendly neighbors. Good local restaurants. Many job opportunities."
  • Ibiavmitchellventura
"It’s quite a racist community. Although beautiful, quiet and for the most part, safe, Belle Chasse is mostly comprised by Caucasian people and sadly many are racists and are quick to profile any colored individual. "
  • Ibiavmitchellventura
"5-15 minute commute to all that I need. Groceries, gas, doctors and schools are all nearby. Great neighbors and pleasant people everywhere you go in Belle Chasse!!"
  • Ibiavmitchellventura
"Schools, supermarkets and restaurants are all within a 15 minute max commute. Pretty much everything necessary is very close by"
  • JV
"Houses and yards are well kept. Very safe. Nice community with neighborhood sponsored events twice per year. Very close to Downtown New Orleans. Belle Chasee public schools are good and you are very close to a blue ribbon Catholic school in Algiers."
  • James.s.frazier99
"Good place to raise a family. Not too big, good schools and nice houses. Lived here for many years and I have found it to be very comfortable."
  • Don G.
"we don't do muffin at all. no movies, potlucks or restaurants in walking distance. football is all we got"
  • O.hood
"Quiet neighborhood. Except for fun firework excitement on holidays as Mississippi River/built up levee across the street(no homes). Can see cruise ships passing Can fish in river where clearings are! Wonderful friendly neighbors and SAFE street to live on. Never never had a problem. "
  • Omalee
"All of the neighbors I know--all that surround my home are extremely nice and would come to help if I needed them i.e. car needs a charge--didn't have to call anyone, a neighborhood gentleman just came with his charger and vehicle. Garbage can tipped over? A neighbor must have picked all up before I got out to do it!. Very safe quiet street right across from Miss. River. There are a couple to trails to river to walk down to fish. A quick stop/gas station/lunch area at corner of Highway 11--within walking distance!"
  • Sayra178
"Lived here all my life. Very peaceful. People are friendly. Love to have family gatherings. Everything you need is in the area or a few miles away. Not far from downtown where all the festivals are. "
  • Tyreek M.
"great place to walk your pets. Lots of parks and sidewalks and other activities to do in the area. this area is very secure and safe to walk around and be out and about after dark."
  • Unspecified

  • Angeladawn2172
"Neighbors are always walking their dogs throughout the day mostly in the mornings and evenings. It's a very dog friendly subdivision. "
  • Monica H.
"Halloween in good news avenue is very busy. On Wednesday nights there is a social bike ride. The school district is one of the best in the state. "
  • Dollfin14xo
"I live here because my son-in-law is in the Navy and stationed here. Due to move this summer. The base lacks many amenities of most bases but the area is pretty nice! "
  • Nikki W.
"It’s a military base that I live on. We don’t own a home but we are looking in the Belle Chasse area. It’s not far from big city amenities but feels like a small town secluded and peaceful by comparison. The schools are superior to any other surrounding areas. "
  • Tabbenedict
"We were stationed in Belle Chasse for a brief time, and I would go back again in a heart beat if I could. I miss the school system, I miss our neighborhood, I miss our house and yard, and I miss being so close to downtown New Orleans but having none of the hassle that went along with living in New Orleans. Belle Chasse is a great place to raise a family and the West Banik has all of the big box stores you could want. We were members of the Audubon zoo and aquarium and used most of the entertainment options in greater New Orleans. BC is close enough that it was convenient! Once you get off of Highway 23 and into the neighborhoods, there is no traffic and little need to worry about your kids playing outside. People are super friendly and pleasant. We never had any trouble. I seriously would go back in a heartbeat if I could!"
