Room Description

**Charming Room in a Real Urbana Home All Utilities Included $800/month**

Available August 24th, 2026 (perfect timing for the start of the UIUC school year) through the end of the school year.

I own a cozy three-bedroom house just one mile from campus and four blocks from downtown Urbana easy walking and biking distance to everything. This is a real home, not a corporate rental property, and it shows: character, comfortable shared spaces, and people who actually care about the place.

**The room
A bright front bedroom on the main level. You'll share the downstairs with one other person a retired theatre artist who's friendly, low-key, and tends to keep night-owl hours (so daytime quiet is pretty much guaranteed). You'll have full access to the shared bathroom, living room, kitchen, and laundry room, plus a screened porch and back deck for hanging out. A separate tenant lives upstairs in their own private apartment with its own entrance you may cross paths occasionally, but it's a fully separate unit.

**The deal
$800/month, all-inclusive that's fiber internet, electric, gas, water/sewer, and garbage all covered. No utility bills to track, no surprises in the winter when heating costs spike. Free street parking, with driveway access often available too.

**Who we're looking for
Someone who'll treat this space like the home it is, not a transaction. We're left-leaning/socialist and would love someone who shares those values artists, intellectuals, grad students, and generally thoughtful people are all very welcome. This isn't the right fit for heavy partying or excessive drinking, but if you're someone who values a quiet, creative, low-drama household, you'll feel right at home here.

**To apply
Please tell us a bit about yourself what you do, what you're looking for in a living situation, and why this house feels like a good fit. (One-line "is this still available?" messages will be deleted we're looking for people who actually want to live here, not just anyone.)

A flat fee of $150 is required monthly, which covers all utilities and any maintenance or repairs.
Therefore, the total rent would be $800 per month, everything included.
