I would not recommend this school to anyone. They will ask you for money pretty much every time your child is at school. Then when you want to eat lunch with your child at school. You will be turned away if you bring another sibling. They actually turned a dad away with two young children. So if you don’t have a sitter you will pretty much never be able to eat with your child until all your children are in school. They don’t actually care about your family. They want your money. The PTO is awful….. they will ask for money multiple times a week and you have to PAY to be in it. No thanks. They clearly don’t understand this economy and raising a family. They actually covered up someone in the PTO stealing money which they didn’t want to get out. When you call up there they laugh and don’t seem to care in the slightest. Anytime I’ve called with questions, they were rude. They CLEARLY didn’t make a brand NEW school big enough if you can’t come eat with one sibling with you. Any event they have, does NOT have enough parking. Grandparents day was a nightmare. Grandparents that have health issues had to wait in line at the book fair for over a hour. The line wrapped around the school. And yet again having to park way up the street and walk long distances with them having health issues. Not ideal for anyone. Why they built a school too small for any event is crazy. Especially off all the money they make at the book fair. The stupidest decision Hartselle made was putting all prek in one building already too small for the students they have. DO NOT SEND THEM. You wouldn’t believe the car line disaster caused by this. They don’t care about your family until they want you to come to the carnival and then they want you to bring all your kids so they make money off of you. If both parents work, you will be overwhelmed at all they ask the parents to do. If you aren’t made of money, I wouldn’t send your child here. We will probably not even let our child finish out the year here.

This school harms kids and vilifies parents in order to protect questionable staff.

HHS offers career readiness programs, such as welding, electrical, plumbing, etc, as well as career academies to prepare for college. Academics are so important, and teachers and counselors are readily available to assist students and parents with questions or concerns. They actively help students prepare for ACT testing and have before school and Saturday School for students struggling academically. I honestly feel like students can find "their people" at HHS, because there are so many students from so many backgrounds. Find your group! Kids are kids, and there are some jerks, but overall, I think kids can easily find friends with common interests. They also offer many sports and activities for all interests from baseball and golf to ESports and choir. They have many Honor Societies and social groups. WE LOVE IT!
