"This neighborhood has a great accessibility to all things I'm looking for as a foreigners investment which are looking for a small business investment in Austin's Dowtown"
  • Trulia User
"Lots of fun things to do and live music vibrant cultural scene. UT Austin is super close. Great for apartment living. "
  • Mrjirey
"Awesome neighborhood near everything. Easy to walk or take public transit. Plenty of shops and restaurants to choose from. A diverse mix of people. "
  • Kaelyn M.
"It's important to teach your kids not to litter. That is my only complaint with living in this area is college kids (entitled sorority girls/frat boys) use the streets as their trash can. As if thereโ€™s a nighttime street maid. "
  • Mrjirey
"Close to downtown without being in it. Easy access to transportation and amenities. About 1-2 blocks away from the Shoal Creek trail"
  • Mrjirey
"Close to downtown and UT without being in it. Lots of convenient shops and restaurants. Great public transportation. Very walkable with acces to the shoal creek trail"
  • Mrjirey
"The local Central Market hosts weekly music events that are kid friendly. Many University of Texas events are within walking distance "
  • Valerie C. L. H.
"was a smooth ride aground this time 8:30 traffic was minimal and streets weren't overt crowded with pedestrians."
  • Addam G.
" Always celebrating something or another it seems like, but go UT! Everyone is kind enough "
  • Addam G.
"Not too many dog parks unfortunately but other than that itโ€™s a great place to raise your companion. "
  • Grace T.
"You will see dog walkers everywhere! A lot of the apartment complexes accommodate dog-owners by providing dog parks and restroom areas. Most complexes have an added charge for petsโ€”such as deposit and monthly fees. There are a lot of sidewalks and nature areas you can take your dogs to in West Campusโ€”a great one is Pease District Park! A lot of restaurants also allow dogs in the outdoor areas."
  • Grace T.
"West Campus is heavily influenced by university life, but is still unique to the Austin culture. This is the place to live if you want to truly experience the college life of Austin! It is mainly university students who live here. There's a lot to do within walking distance, such as restaurants, bars, and a wide variety of small music venues with shows for any musical interest. The University is part of West Campus and holds huge events such at UT football games, accompanied by tailgates and after-parties. Fraternities and co-op housing also have parties on the weekends."
  • Grace T.
"My commute is 10โ€”45 minutes, depending on traffic. Driving through West Campus can be a little hectic with all the students driving around, but the very accessible Austin bus system also runs throughout West Campus."
  • Grace T.
"Usually I commute by bike because we have great infrastructure for that here."
  • Grace T.
"This is very active neighborhood that reminds me a little bit of New York. So I can't say that it's the best place to live if you have kids, but it's definitely great place if you are a young family."
  • Grace T.
"West Campus is mainly a college-student neighborhood, but there are areas within West Campus that are kind of separate from all the college life (quieter and calmer)โ€”usually the streets with more houses further from the dense apartment complexes. It is a safe area, but there are usually partiers walking around late at night on the weekends. West Campus living is in high demand from students, so in most cases you will get a lot less space for your money in comparison to nearby neighborhoods."
  • Mary A. K.
"All amenities nearby; including shopping, restaurants, parks, hospitals, public transportation all within walking distance."
