5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI will start with the positives, my child who attends here has had great teachers who really seem to care about my child's education. The concerns I have are with Boone County as whole. This year my child has been experiencing bullying issues while in the classroom and the bus. My child has been coming home daily very distraught and cries that they don't want to go to school because they dont feel safe. The school is trying their best with the limited resources they have. However, I feel that the county could provide better support.. especially on the bus. There are serious safety concerns my child has experienced on the bus that have been going on all of this school year that have not been resolved. This includes being depanted on the bus, pushed, name called and more. Due to the schools limited resources, I felt that this should be escalated to actually resolve the issue. When talking to the superintendent's office, I spoke with Jamie. She advised that the bus is a luxury and I should provide transportation if I don't like it. She stated the school had no responsibilty to the action of the children on the bus and that this was at the parents discretion to handle. It is not that my child doesn't enjoy the bus, it is that there are constant physical safety concerns. And its very alarming that the school holds no credibility for the safety of our children during school hours while on the bus, and are not provided enough resources to control the reckless behavior of other students during school hours. This problem does not stop at the bus. My child has also been bullied during school hours. We have encountered multiple situations resulting in calls from the nurse to alert me what had happened to him while under the schools care.It is really infuriating that the district does not provide additional support such as a bus monitor for problematic busses, and are improperly staffed to care for the concerns during school hours as well.Jamie did do me a "favor" and called me back to let me know that I could pay out of pocket for a daycare bus service if I felt it was needed. Shame on Boone County for not doing better for their students!Parent Review3mo ago12 Reviews - Ockerman Middle School

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis experience here was AWFUL. What kind of school TAKES AWAY THE 988 HELPLINE from a kid in crisis?! Absolutely DISGUSTING. Also a HUGE bullying problem at this school. I see bullying happen, and am a victim myself. I'm heavily bullied for.. about every little flaw about myself. This school also promotes homophobia in their banned books signs. It is awful. The amount of slurs I hear in one day is abysmal. What kind of school allowed kids to get off scot-free for bullying mentally ill kids, KNOWING they are mentally ill? Absolutely ABYSMAL.Other Review1y ago8 Reviews - Check out schools near 7000 Houston Rd #24.

"Parents need to keep an eye on their children. What I don’t like is the lack of supervision of today’s children. Too many are allowed to do that which will get them into trouble."

"A lot or road noise! Well kept and manicure lawns but could use a face lift. Area looks old. We remodeled inside but outside of building needs serious updating! Driveways are quite small. "

"Local to many restaurants and shopping. A bit on the noisy side with very loud vehicles!!! Very friendly. Mostly older above 60 that live here. Very close in as for not much driveway. Great back deck in summer but in the spring and fall a lot tree shedding. Just a lot more road noise than I expected to hear! "

"It’s not a bad town but it is different than it used to be. We never used to see panhandlers on the corners but now we do. But it could be much worse so I’m thankful that it’s still a nice town. We have every kind of shopping that you need within a 5 minute drive so that is very nice. And the weather isn’t too bad here either."
