The community have pride in where they live and cleanliness is a priority when it comes to that. That’s why it attracts people to seek out City Island as home. I work here so you can say that I live here because most of my time I’m here."

    "It is an old fishing and boating village. Nowadays there are a lot of seafood restaurants, a few art galleries and antique stores. There are marinas to keep boats. There are a few yacht clubs to join. There is a wonderful public school that is K-8. There is a library, a supermarket and a small market. Lots of places to walk and you are surrounded by Long Island Sound. The west side of City Island faces Manhattan. "

    "It’s a small town with New York an hour transit ride away. We just moved here and it’s surreal, we even leave the door unlocked half the time when going out to grab a coffee etc. You can feel a strong sense of community pride here. "

    "It’s a family oriented community, you get to know your neighbors even if it’s just faces. On the Island we do have an annual street fair, community board meetings, a food CO-OP and many more activities for residents to be involved in. It definitely has a small town feel which we love. "
