We love Springdale. The teachers and administrators are excellent! The PTO is active and creative. Springdale is an incredible community and we are so grateful to be zoned for this school.

Airport High School is really what you make of it. Make sure your student stays in the highest level of classes possible and they will be good. There are not major differences between the coursework, but there is a huge difference in the quality of the classroom. The lower level classes are filled with students that don't care about being there, being quiet or behaving, making it impossible for the students that do care to learn anything. The higher level courses, the students are well behaved and carry on insightful class conversations and make it a wonderful learning environment. I've found that majority of the teachers like the school and care about their students. Safety is not a major issue in this school- never felt threatened or saw any physical violence between students. There is a high emphasis on sports at the school and between the two high schools in Lexington II, Airport Football usually performs much better than Brookland-Cayce, and draws more attention.

This school talks a good game, but many students tend to fall through the cracks. I have read what many of the other parents have said about bullying, buses and bitter teachers. It's true more than I would like to admit. I have heard of more fights at that school than I ever dreamed. The administrators do have the school like a jail limiting bathroom breaks, but yet there is at least a fight every week. My son passes the classes but doesn't know hardly any of the material because the teachers don't want to spend the time. There is only one teacher that uses the Edmodo system and her grades still aren't up to date on the site. The school would do better if it just followed through.
