This historic property lies within the city of Frederick, the county seat of Frederick County, Maryland. Some 200 antique dealers inventory impressive wares in an eight-block area. Frederick offers an abundance of recreational choices, including swimming, boating, golf, camping, skating, horseback riding and nature parks. Baker Park in downtown Frederick is a 44-acre park with tennis courts, softball and baseball fields, Culler Lake, a public swimming pool, and playgrounds for children, featuring concerts and children's theater in the summer and outdoor events throughout the year. Monocacy National Battlefield offers walking trails that interpret the 1864 battle that saved Washington, D.C., from advancing Confederate forces. Some 40 miles of the 2,170-mile Appalachian Trail follow the western border of Frederick County, much of it along South Mountain.

Within a short drive, residents and guests can reach other attractions, including Gettysburg Battlefield, Antietam Battlefield and the historic Burnside Bridge, the Catoctin Wildlife Preserve, and several ski resorts.

Frederick is conveniently located at the junction of I-270 and I-70, allowing for a convenient commute to Washington, D.C., or Baltimore, which are less than an hour away. Frederick is also served by the Frederick and Monocacy stations of the MARC commuter rail system, which operates trains south to Rockville, Maryland, and Washington, D.C.

Everyone is good about adhering to the leash laws. For the most part, people are good about cleaning up after their dog."
