"People do not pick up their trash or dog poop. There have been a couple of drug overdoses recently. It seems like the neighborhood has degraded a bit. "

"We lived in Walkersville for five years with our two sons, and chose the town for its size and quality of schools. The schools were excellent, the town is very nice and safe, and we enjoyed the public library, parks, walking through town, the festivals and the fire company's Fourth-of-July celebrations. We also loved that in 10 minutes we could be in historic downtown Frederick, enjoying restaurants and shopping, and in 15 minutes at the mall and nearly every other commercial amenity. Just 30 minutes from Harper's Ferry, Gettysburg and the canal bike trails, Walkersville is small-town Maryland living at its best! If a job transfer hadn't taken us to another state, we would have stayed in Walkersville much, much longer."
