9/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI have two students at CHS and it’s a great high school with seniors continuing on to an impressive list of colleges. They have a solid AP and honors offering, as well as career training for both college and non-college bound kids. Athletics are robust and the AD is fantastic- very involved and encourages character development as much as performance. Tons of clubs with something for everyone.Parent Review1y ago - Pacific Rim Elementary School

9/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageHeavy focus on attaining rankings over any other success criteria. If they perceive your child will make it more challenging for them you will feel like you’re being pushed out. There is bullying that certain students know how to get away with. Volunteers that monitor behavior may not be well trained to deal with this. Academically they go the extra mile to ensure children are not falling behind. Bathrooms are not well maintained and students frequently make a mess of it. My children would try to avoid using it which wasn’t good for them. All in all a mixed bag. Probably a bit overrated given it has attained a name for itself in the area but there are areas that this school does excel in.Parent Review11mo ago - Aviara Oaks Middle School

8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school was the worst school I've been to! I do not recommend going to this school, if you're thinking of sending your child here, don't! The teachers are mean (well at least most of them) the school lunches are horrible, and the students are musty! 0/10 I do not recommendStudent Review3mo ago - Check out schools near 6922 Carnation Dr.

"There are dog poop bins and bags located throughout the area and plenty of areas to walk your dog. @5 pm they have yappy hour at the neighborhood park where dogs are free to run off leash. "

"Slow and very crowded. There is little to no public transportation so driving is the only option. More lanes are being added to I-5 in both directions, but it will not be much if any help. "

"Long and boring to Coronado island. Traffic on the 5 can be horrible at times. Construction on the 5 might make it better but I’m sure they’re working quickly. "

"1 minute from freeway onramp. Easy access to the 5. Shopping center is 1/4 mile away and the beach is 5 minutes away. Most everyone in n the area take really good care of their places and when I get home from work in the evening I love to take a swim and jacuzzi in the pool. "

"The parking regulations suck in the HOA, and good luck fighting them on it. But there are stores and the train within walking distance. Everyone is very nice. Area is very dog friendly. There is basically a Yappy Hour every night at 6 at the park across the street."

"The HOA at Alta Mira I does not like kids. They threaten to fine you if they ride bikes, skate boards, climb on trees, have fun, etc. They also hate dogs. They constantly threaten to fine everyone for the simplest of things, including letting them pee on a neighbors front yard...yes, front yard. There are a lot of nice people here, but the HOA is run by a bunch of grumpy old people that complain and want to fine everyone. Also, there is no parking. On trash day, the trash cans take up the entire street parking. Everyone begins to fight each other for street space, not only in the cul de sacs, but the entire community. This place was not set up for families to live at all. With all that said, its typically quiet and pretty safe. Just know that to use any of the common areas, while publicly encouraged, is secretly not popular as these people seem to want to put fines out there for everything. Don't take my word for it...Just ask for a copy of the most recent HOA news letter and you will see exactly what I am talking about."

"I lived in Marbrisa earlier, a very well kept and friendly gated community. It is a place to live near ocean with mountains especially if you like ocean views from your home. It is an excellent and safe community for family with children or adult couples or singles. I loved this place."
