4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy son graduated from here in 2022 and 2 of my kids graduated in 2019 and 2020. There are a few excellent teachers, however the leadership and communication from the Principal is subpar. Keep in mind, my kids were not troublesome. One of my children received special services from the county and she came to me to make me aware that the specific special needs teacher she was working with was making unauthorized recordings of the students behavior and using it for a side business without permission. When I brought to the Principal's attention she was painstakingly slow to investigate and react and instead left it up to my child and I to provide the burden of proof before she finally investigated and discovered we were telling the truth. Another incident is when my son went to her with a legitimate issue that a teacher advised him to go to her about, she completely dismissed him! He came home and made me aware and it wasn't until I had to reach out to her that she actually took him seriously. Eventually she apologized to him with the excuse of her being so busy that she didn't realize she was being dismissive. There have been other experiences, which have formed my opinions as well, but there simply isn't enough time or space to elaborate.Parent Review1y ago - J A Chalkley Elementary School

3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI was employed at the school. This place has a notorious reputation for being a poor school. I worked there for a year and was forced to resign due to the principal, giving me such a poor review after several struggles with behavior, problems, ranging from students, destroying my classroom and fits of rage, throwing chairs, and fighting each other. I mentally could not handle the stress, and it affected my professionalism. There were teachers who disrespected other teachers asked inappropriate title, nine violation questions such as Are you gay? they would also refuse to assist in any disciplinary action when extreme behaviors hindered the class from learning. even during a classroom observation, the principal chose not to intervene with two kindergarten students who were physically attacking each other, and I had to be in the middle of it. I thought that this was incredibly unprofessional, and was a chosen act to have me look bad, so he could prove that I wasn’t meeting the standards of a teacher who could continue working for CCPS. after being placed on administrative leave pending my non-renewal of my contract, I chose to resign and put the matter to rest for my own well-being. Now I’ve just been left, struggling to make ends meet as a teacher working in a lower paying job than before, w-paying job than before, with my reputation hindered due to false and one-sided accusations. I wish the school no luck, and I hope reform comes down the line to help the students at the school progress forward and not backwards each year with new administrations and continuing behavior and disruptions throughout the school year each day.Teacher Review5mo ago - Providence Middle School

3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI am currently a student at Providence Middle School (7th grade), and i wanted to share my experience at the school to warn parents and their children. Before i went to this school my mother researched it. After doing so, she didn't want me to go here at all, because she had seen some people's experiences claiming about how they had a ''bad time''. Despite that I still decided to attend the school, which was a big mistake. From the outside it seems great, but my school has many flaws. It is a very well built school, with an amazing design, but some of the teachers are kind of rude and can be aggressive at times for no reason. Fights happen very often, and it makes me and many other students feel unsafe. Another thing to note is that I used to be a person who spoke a lot, but now i don't speak much. This is because many students pick on each other, and I fear that I will be picked on next. If you want your child to attend this school, please, don't let them. It will be a horrible experience for them, and for you. I understand we all have different experiences at schools but, i recommend you not risk something like what I've experienced happen to your child. I have tried being myself at this school but no matter what they always made rude remarks and said mean things. The food is nasty, and the photos people take of each other are so terrible they can ruin your entire reputation. Something I really dislike is that, the communication at the school is terrible. A few months ago i had signed up for mega mentors (a school program) and I missed multiple meet-ups due to the terrible communication. The hallways are very hard to navigate through and are often crowded every time a fight occurs. So, please, please, do not let your child attend this school!Student Review4mo ago - Check out schools near 6901 Walmsley Blvd.
