I believe this school was below standard in resources we could obtain from being in a poor community. With that being said there were people in the community who did their best to help in any way they could like the Loftens. The environment with in the classrooms was very open and welcoming. I had great relations with all the teachers I have had through my schooling throughout Ki-Be. Common Core personally made schooling more difficult including the test, but if you did homework and asked for help, it was pretty easy to pass.

This school is terrible, there principals don't listen to the complaints that both students and parents make. Alot of bullying happens too. It isn't LGBTQ+ friendly. This one teacher in particular, had been doing inappropriate actions towards 6th-8th graders.

Kiona Benton School District ultimately forced me to withdraw my son from kindergarten due to their discrimination, and abuse of choice transfer system. It’s unfortunate that my son‘s first experience in public school was this horrid. Poor communication from both Assnt and Principal herself. My son was referred for special educational services by his teacher, and I received no follow up, a behavioral plan was not set in place for my six-year-old before the principle ultimately decided to reject his Choice transfer two months before the end of the school year. I received this notice by phone call stating my son “Needed to go.” Overall, the communication within the school lacks greatly. After gathering information from a few staff members, in my opinion my son was being discriminated against. The district is only concerned about numbers and does not show interest in making decisions based on the best interest of the child. I would not recommend this school district to anyone, especially if your child may need special services which surprise, surprise after starting at a new school he was found to not stand out as a student who would need special education services.
