3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWhat is the point of going to this school even there is more high school near Hamden? Some teachers act like they are children. Also, they are doing a "say something" campaign but never works they just doing it for performance. I don't feel safe in school.Parent Review2y ago - Hamden Middle School

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageTerrible school with terrible administration. They don't care about the children's growth or the fact puberty is a natural process. School should be shut down. All schools should be shut down. What's the point of having remote technology but not using it?Parent Review2y ago - Shepherd Glen School

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy experience with this school has been an amazing experience. My child's last year and it has been awesome. The teacher's at shepherd Glen are really amazing, compassionate people who really care about their students and the progression they make! I'm hoping her experience in the middle school will be the same experience!Parent Review2y ago - Check out schools near 66 Washington Rd.

"Close to downtown, but not a very educated population overall. Good for single people with a job downtown. Not for a family trying to raise kids. Also lots of city noises like emergency vehicles but that’s something you get use to. Also in some areas you hear the trains but that’s is also you can get use to. "

"Do not move here !! Unless you want to deal with people smoking in the hallways or deal with people throwing trash in the hallways or people blasting music until the sun comes up . Let’s talk about the mice that the have there and don’t do anything about or how about the old appliances they have in these apartments that they refuse to replace if you love that then this is the place for you "

"Nothing I felt/ feel safe going to. Violence has risen here in the last couple of years. I would never let my children outside to play without supervision. This area used to be "Grand" many years ago, but in ensuing years has really gone downhill. It's actually sad. School system isn't as good as touted either. "

"I lived across Whitney Ave on orange street growing up and me and my cousin would walk up to east rock and go shopping at the little grocery. We did our laundry at suds and went to church on Lawrence st. We would go to state st and check out the little shops. It was a nice place to live. Unfortunately the area got a bad name because of a few isolated incidents!"
