They seem too interested in blaming others instead of being part of the solution. They were fine with average student performance when we knew that our child was capable of much more. We pulled our child out of the middle school in complete frustration with lack of effort and caring by the staff and administration despite repeated efforts to help our child. They have been helped with emotional issues by their teachers and counselors, given opportunities to excel from GATE instruction as well as regular classroom instruction, regularly encouraged by enthusiastic teachers and principals who expose them to different programs and new ways of instruction, while keeping learning fun and exciting with special programs and fun themed days, etc. I have worked in many of the school districts in the surrounding area, and chose the Avonworth area to live primarily because of it's school district.Parent Review2y ago - Avonworth Primary Center

"It's as smooth a commute as you get to downtown in the area. It's half an hour to downtown, a little longer at peak rush hour. the roads are well maintained in winter. You do run into some flooding on 65 going into the city when it's raining hard."

"We have lived in Sewickley Village for the past 12 years and it has been such a great place to raise our large family. Our seven children can walk the dog safely around the neighborhood daily, we're within a couple blocks of the library, YMCA, shops,friends, even the dentist and pediatrician. We did decide to move our kids to a school in the North Hills this year and the long commute, plus a new job for me with another long commute is the driving force for the move. All our kids friends are now in the North hills and we find ourselves in the car more than walking, so the village no longer makes sense for us. I can highly recommend it though if you are looking to move into the QV school system! Village living can't be beat! Best of luck with your home search."
