7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageVHS campus is beautiful and the new science, gym, arts building are first class. Students are diverse and seem to get along quite well. Lots of AP classes and programs for students with different interests. And the sports program is amazing…XC, basketball, tennis, football, soccer, baseball. And so many kids are getting into UCLA, Berkeley, UCSD, NYU, etc. VHS is morphing into a powerhouse public school. Best kept secret on the Westside.Parent Review5mo ago - Westchester Enriched Sciences Magnets

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy son started here in the 6th grade. Kids bully kids right in front of teachers and staff. The Language the kids use is unbelievable. Kids cusrse at the staff and teachers. More parents should come to school to see their kids behavior. I am sorry I put my child in this type of environment. Police should be on campus everyday and not just at the front desk.Parent Review9mo ago - Playa Vista Elementary

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageYour experience will depend on the teacher, Also by being an LAUSD school, you basically expect to receive less care and attention than from a smaller district. Lots of homework! Teachers expected too much from parents during covid, all while denying it.The curriculum during the pandemic was in my opinion a complete disaster, with less emphasis on the basics (grammar, reading and math for 1st and 2nd graders). Science projects seem to be a stronger focus. Our kids will be behind next year...Nonetheless, I have heard lots of positive feedback about Ms. Q. also Mrs Shahabi from other parents.Parent Review2y ago - Katherine Johnson STEM Academy

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageUnfortunately this school keeps getter worse as the years go on. There is absolutely no supervision children are vaping on campus! Fights are a regular. Including adults fighting in front of the children. Staff are not held accountable for the lack of teaching or resources. The school struggles with keeping teachers, that is a sign of poor management. The principal is a joke, sweeps everything under the rug. I agree with another parent who said they have a strict no cell phone policy! Yes it's so the children can't record what is really going on at KJSA. This is not an academy and for it to be so small you would think they would have control of this institution. The teachers barley show up to teach. Ambulance was called due to a child overdosing. A student not only started a fire in the bathroom but also fell through the roof of the bathroom. Oh and if your child is in need of an IEP good luck with that, they will tell you they do not qualify without a proper assessment. Absolutely no student/parent support. It shows majority of the staff is there for a paycheck. If your a concerned parent you become a threat! This is a poor environment with lack of care and compassion for these students. This is critical years for a child and if the adults can't model positive behavior for these children this is not the proper establishment for anyone! Look at the scores that should be sufficient enough.Parent Review7mo ago - Check out schools near 6400 Crescent Park E #318.

"Dog owners would love the vast amount of neighborhood provided dog bags and waste depositories - there is one every hundred yards are so. They would also love the dog-friendly apartment complexes, restaurants and shopping outlets. Lastly, they would love the multiple dog parks in the area; there are at least three of them. "

"This is Silicon Beach. We lives across the street from Google. All the giant Tech companies are here. There is a park in every block. The whole town is walkable."
- Noelle N.

"The dog parks are nice, when open. Certainly too many dog owners that don’t train or know how to control their pups, so I’ve seen way too many aggression issues or attacks in my two years living here. I also find myself cleaning up a lot of dog poop not produced from either of my two dogs, but I’d rather not have that nastiness tracked throughout my apartment. It’s mostly commonly dog walking services that are guilty of not picking up. "
