Description

Charming Historic Home!Much of the allure of the Lake Lotela area of Avon Park is the charm of some the older homes and the historic aspect of Pinecrest Golf Course. This charming four bedroom, two bath home is a perfect example and was built in 1935 and features beautiful heart pine floor, high ceilings and molding, red tiled flooring in sunroom plus a wraparound deck overlooking the lake. Built on a one acre lot, this home is located on the white sandy beach shores of Lake Lotela and home to the historic 1926's Donald Ross designed golf course of Pinecrest. The formal living room is very spacious and has a fireplace and built-in window seat flanked by book shelves. The formal dining room opens to the deck with French doors. The kitchen is a chefâEUR(tm)s dream with lots of counter space and cabinets for storage. The original cabinets have been refinished and restored and a cabinet maker built additional cabinets to match. It is hard to tell the originals from newly built. The counters are solid surface. Just off the kitchen is a family room, again with more built-in storage. This is also a great area for a breakfast room or home office. The home has four bedrooms with one bedroom on the first floor and three upstairs bedrooms. The downstairs bedroom and one of the upstairs bedrooms are both approximately 200 s.f. and either can serve as the master bedroom. The one acre lot has beautiful gardens. In addition there is a large vegetable garden, fruit trees and a rose garden. If you have always wanted to grow your own vegetables and herbs, this is a great opportunity to unleash the gardener in you! The sunroom offers stunning views of Lake Lotela. The southern exposures allows for enjoyment of a beautiful sunrise and sunset. Out buildings include a detached garage, 19x10 utility/workshop and enclosed boat storage area. There is plenty of room to park an RV, boat and lake toys. Many happy memories have been made in this home over the years. You will enjoy the lakefront life-style and making your own special memories with family and friends on the shores of Lake Lotela.Contact Maureen Cool of A Cool Realtor for All Your Real Estate Needs -- Highlands County Florida -- Avon Park, Sebring & Lake Placid. "Very family oriented neighborhood. Everybody says hi and look out for each other. We witnessed this last year when tornadoes (due to hurricane season) hit us."
  • pworley13

  • Debbie W.
"Within 10 min of all grocery stores and fast food restaurants. Delivery is widely available. Lots of people who live here commute out of town for work though. 30 min to more than an hour each way"

The 2 oldest already graduated this year on May 24th, 2019 with the youngest turning 2 years old in September. "

  • Virginia F.
"I currently live here. I have wonderful neighbors all around. There are only 8 homes on our street. The road is dirt and shell but I county maintained. They come out periodically and resurface the road. They were here again just the other day. Trash pickup 2 X week. County water and septic system. We have sadly outgrown our home, or should I say it has outgrown us. We have 6 children, grown and at one time we had a houseful. We no longer need this much room. Close to super Walmart, a Dollar General, churches and parks and lakes as well. Come by and see for yourself. There are 2 screen lanai's on the back of the house. Carpet , tile & linoleum. Cathedral ceilings in main section of the home. large pantry in kitchen. Ceiling fans all throughout. Laundry room is inside. No need to go outdoors to wash clothes! Large yard. Shade trees. New roof installed in 2004. It is a Alcoa aluminum roof."
  • Andersonbnb
"This home is in a nice neighborhood with larger than average homes. It is away from the hustle of the city, but close enough to town. (10 minutes to WalMart) The homes are on 2.5 to 5 acre estates. so there is privacy from neighbors. "
  • Andersonbnb
"Nice subdivision. Quiet, and has very nice homes away from the bussle of the city, but is close enough to town (only 10 minutes to Walmart). Has large lots so there is privacy from neighbors."
  • my_mbenz y. c.
"I used to live in the area and want to move back cause it is very nice. Great for families, retirees, singles or couples, with plenty of restaurants, grocery, shopping and privacy if desired."
