Description

Home is under contract, there is a 72 hour kick-out clause. Built in 1925, this 3 bedroom, 2 bath Craftsman pool home retains many of its original details - which are complemented by modern finishes and updates. In addition to the main home, there is a two-story apartment building or mother-in-law suite, a partially enclosed pole barn and a small shed. The congenial front porch will draw you in with its boastful character and welcoming presence. Entry into the home through the front door brings you to a large, open living room with original woodburning fireplace with built-ins on either side. The large and plenteous windows with traditional wide wood trim, allow for tons of natural light from all directions. With a split floor plan, you'll find the huge main bedroom to the left with newly remodeled bathroom, and private entry to the pool. On the opposite side of the home, you'll find two additional bedrooms, one with a private sitting area/office/game room, and a second (completely remodeled) bathroom. The spacious kitchen is located in the heart of the home with a window overlooking the pool. Before exiting the back door of the home, you will pass by the oversized laundry area. Right outside the rear of the home is a large screened lanai that leads to the pool area. The other exit of the lanai leads to the apartment building. The bottom floor of the apartment building is handicap accessible with an open bedroom/living area, a large bathroom with walk-in shower, and a small area in between that could easily be converted into a kitchenette. Upstairs is a full 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom apartment with kitchen. Tons of renovations have been completed, making this home move-in ready, but a new owner could continue with a few additional updates that would really make her shine brighter than she did almost 100 years ago. Here are some of the most recent updates. The main home has two new HVAC package units installed in (9/22), new roof (9/22), fresh exterior paint (9/22), new stucco skirting around bottom exterior (10/22), both bathrooms were completed remodeled to include new plumbing, electrical, subflooring (4/21). The apartment building also has a new roof (9/22), fresh paint (9/22), and was recovered with vinyl siding (9/22). Additional lot is also available. Seller is a licensed real estate agent.

"Very family oriented neighborhood. Everybody says hi and look out for each other. We witnessed this last year when tornadoes (due to hurricane season) hit us."
  • pworley13
"I have been visiting Avon Park for over 15 years to visit my parents. It is a wonderful place to live. Highlands Ridge is terrific and the neighborhood is delightful. Weather is fabulous. "
  • Felipe Oscar Parra
"The golf Course is a plus. On top of that, no HOA. Very nice neighborhood surrounded by lakes. Very nice and polite people as well."

"Friendly and caring community. It is becoming more diverse and beginning to grow with new businesses. Lots of great food! "
  • Debbie W.
"Within 10 min of all grocery stores and fast food restaurants. Delivery is widely available. Lots of people who live here commute out of town for work though. 30 min to more than an hour each way"
  • Courtney L. O.

"I need to use private vehicle to commute! There is no local bus service and no taxi service. There are only 8 houses on this partially paved road. 2/3 is paved and 1/3 is dusty dirt road!"
  • Jennifer B. M.

"I’ve lived in Avon Park since 1962, @ the age of 5 years, raised three daughters, and now I have the privilege of watching their children (totaling my 9 grandchildren) grow up in AP. The 2 oldest already graduated this year on May 24th, 2019 with the youngest turning 2 years old in September. "
  • Lex V.

"The buolding is full of termites and it is horrible... they said they are planning to exterminate this problem soon"
  • Virginia F.
"I currently live here. I have wonderful neighbors all around. There are only 8 homes on our street. The road is dirt and shell but I county maintained. They come out periodically and resurface the road. They were here again just the other day. Trash pickup 2 X week. County water and septic system. We have sadly outgrown our home, or should I say it has outgrown us. We have 6 children, grown and at one time we had a houseful. We no longer need this much room. Close to super Walmart, a Dollar General, churches and parks and lakes as well. Come by and see for yourself. There are 2 screen lanai's on the back of the house. Carpet , tile & linoleum. Cathedral ceilings in main section of the home. large pantry in kitchen. Ceiling fans all throughout. Laundry room is inside. No need to go outdoors to wash clothes! Large yard. Shade trees. New roof installed in 2004. It is a Alcoa aluminum roof."
  • Andersonbnb
"This home is in a nice neighborhood with larger than average homes. It is away from the hustle of the city, but close enough to town. (10 minutes to WalMart) The homes are on 2.5 to 5 acre estates. so there is privacy from neighbors. "
  • Andersonbnb
"Nice subdivision. Quiet, and has very nice homes away from the bussle of the city, but is close enough to town (only 10 minutes to Walmart). Has large lots so there is privacy from neighbors."
  • my_mbenz y. c.
