I sat in my vehicle in front of this school waiting for the bell to ring to drop my own child off. Multiple parent's had dropped their kids at the unlocked doors and left which unfortunately is typical. As I sat there in my vehicle, I watched a little girl being hit in the face multiple times. I called the school to let them know a student was being physically hit by another student and the receptionist said "that's why we ask parents to drop their children off at 7:45". So basically, the school was angry enough at the parent for dropping their kids off early that she was going to allow a little girl to be assaulted in front of their building. She was able to answer my call but stated "we don't have staff to go outside before 7:45". I informed the secretary that if he hit her again, I would stop him myself and I did end up having to exit my vehicle and yell at the boy to stop hitting the girl. In my opinion, this disgraceful staff was upset that the girls parents wouldn't follow rules and punished the child further. I watched their mother drop her kids off 15 minutes before the bell, in her pajamas and leave her children their alone. I'm sure the little girl already felt neglected and instead of assisting, this schools staff taught her that the rest of the adults who should be helping protect and care for her, don't care either. Not fit to be in a position to care for young children, disgusting behavior from those who are in a position to actually help children. If this is truly a "policy", it needs reviewed as it's repulsive and in no way protects the students attending this school.
