We were lucky enough to transfer into Hexter after a not so great experience at our neighborhood school. Over the past few years, we've seen the school grow and evolve into a true community for its students and families. No school year is ever perfect but in our experience the administration and teachers always seem to work very hard to be transparent, fair, and go above and beyond to make the most of what they have to help every student. It's a tough time to be in public education when the state government is doing everything they can to defund and control our local schools.It's interesting how OLH often seems to take for granted what an excellent school they have right there in their neighborhood. Local parents and neighbors always seem to be the first to complain and the last to roll their sleeves up and pitch in but I guess that's why Hexter is so great because of the transfer families that are grateful and want to do their part to contribute even though we may not be as rich as OLH.
