  • Trulia User
"There’s lots of trails in the area to go on runs/walks that connect to some parks. All the dogs that are in the area do seem friendly and like other dogs and children."

  • Ahydak
"We have lived in this neighborhood for over 11 years. Very friendly neighborhood and people take good care of their homes. "
  • Paige K.
"It’s within walking distance of the dog park. The sidewalks and trails are well maintained. A majority of the houses have fenced yards."
  • Andrea
"This neighborhood is prone to high crime due to large number of low income apartments and rentals nearby as well as a homeless shelter. Large numbers of homeless inebriates roam the area."
  • Devyn K.
"I live near the hospital and traffic can be rough in the morning especially because Tudor is a very busy road but one that is most convenient for our daily commute. Other than that, I love this area so much. It’s close to APU and UAA and my work ANMC. People are friendly. The crime is low here."
  • Shawnalee W.
"great trail access, a dog park, and a location that keeps you less than 5 mins away from universities and medical campuses, under 10 mins to midtown shopping, and about 12 mins to downtown. great location! plus we're home to East High, the most diverse high school in the country!"
  • E210wench
"This neighborhood is 15-20 minutes in any direction from the wilds of South Central Alaska, or in Downtown Anchorage. Yet grocery stores, gas stations, schools and restaurants are within 5-8 miles. There are 2 major hospitals within walking distance for great jobs. City bus service in any direction is one block away."
  • Sarah S.
"It seems to be a dog friendly area. I would recommend living here if you want to live close to the university and own a dog."
  • Gabby A. O.
"The University area isn’t very dog friendly. Affordable homes that are nice don’t allow pets, but the ones that do allow pets aren’t as nice. Overall, great management but pet owners beware"
  • Queen B.
"Lived here for a year and neighbors and friendly. Nice neighborhood and very clean. Lots of neighbors walk their dog and keep an eye out for unusual activity."
  • ak_edm
"near a dog park, two hospital campuses, the University of Alaska campus and the Alaska Airlines Center that hosts shorts and national concert tours. "
  • Megakarl99
"Good access to university park trails. Low traffic and road noise. Rare to see homeless roaming the neighborhood. "
  • Kerri C.
"Great Place. Quiet, safe, close to parks, trails, the hospital, university, and not far from base. "
  • alexis m.
"I live in the area and it is close to restaurants, universities and hospitals. The neighborhood is safe with active police officers living in the area. The drive to midtown is about 7 minutes and 10 to downtown. Close to trails for walking and bike rides."
