I would not recommend Third Street Elementary, especially for families of children with special needs.The priorities at this school seem completely backwards. Too often, it feels like the administration is more focused on keeping certain parents happy than on providing students with the education and support they deserve. Decisions appear to be driven by politics and appearances rather than what is best for the children.The special education program was one of my biggest disappointments. From my experience, the school seemed more interested in pushing students with special needs elsewhere than in properly supporting them. When students remain at the school, children with vastly different ages, grades, and support needs are often grouped together with little regard for whether that placement is appropriate. There never seemed to be enough aides or adequate supervision, leaving some of the most vulnerable students without the support they need to succeed.Safety is another serious concern. During morning drop-off, campus access felt far too open. As a parent, it was concerning to see how easily people could enter the school grounds. Student safety should be a top priority, but that was not the impression I was left with.Every school faces challenges, but families deserve a school that prioritizes education, safety, and meaningful support for all students. Unfortunately, that was not my experience at Third Street Elementary.
