About this House

Available 5/10/26: Rare Downtown Oasis! This 1100 square foot, two story Townhouse layout apartment occupies the other half of my cherished Maple Street duplex home. Beautiful, refurbished 1860s historic home one block from Perkins Pier (Lake Champlain) and the Burlington Bike path, a 7 minute walk to Church St, 5 minute walk to Pine St, this house is in the middle of everything you love about Burlington. It has one large bedroom and one small, the second being best used as a study/office or guest room. Established gardens line the surprisingly large, privacy fenced-in back-yard, which we share. The kitchen is gorgeous--hickory cabinets, pendant lights over the bar, gas stove and tucked away, a stackable washer/dryer. This unit rarely comes up for rent, and is truly one of Burlington's favorite homes. Sorry, no pets of any kind.

No fees for parking (2 vehicles, driveway parking). No fees for water, sewer and garbage (the listed cost for garbage is actually for compost--see below. Tenant responsible to set up utilities for heating (with Vermont Gas), electric (with Burlington Electric), internet (Comcast/Xfinity), optional cable (Comcast/Xfinity) and compost, which Burlington law requires.

Once tenant has been accepted, a refundable $2400 damage/security deposit is due to secure the apartment. At move-in first month's rent and $150 cleaning fee due.

Lease is a minimum of 9 months. Lease continuance possible, subject to landlord approval. Note: Landlord lives in adjacent unit, or rents to traveling health care workers. This is a close-knit, shared property, with front porch, back yard and basement shared and contiguous. Only quiet, responsible, mature persons considered. No smoking or vaping allowed on property. Note that I want to have a conversation with to screen extremely qualified and interested tenants to see if we are compatible to live as close neighbors before offering showings. In-person showings available after September 15.

There is a grocery store, hardware store, pediatricians office, kids dentist and a could restaurants within a five minute drive (15-20 min walk). And the elementary school is just around the block. "

    "It’s a family friendly neighborhood close to everything! It’s unique in that there are 3 bike paths including trails that lead to lake Champlain which is only about 5 to 10 minute walk! Take another short walk to Ethan Allen park or cross country ski there in the winter including a wooden bridge that leads to Ethan Allen homestead. Enjoy craft beers at the simple roots brewery which is literally a 5 min walk. "
