The only actions that were taking was me having a conference with a social worker that’s it .. nothing was resolved in 24hrs . I enrolled my child in Lake Ridge New TechThe atmosphere was welcoming even the principal; I was assured a A non-Bullying policy that’s Not Tolerated but still due to this my daughter isn’t comfortable with being in school without the comfort of being close .. now I have to apply to work at a school my daughter attends so I can feel assured that she is safe from now on .. This school is not the best school in Indiana like they say Merrillville Intermediate School Is very distasteful I would recommend no parent to send their child here at allParent Review1y ago - Merrillville High School

3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating Averagethis school was so terribly awful to me and my family. the teachers were supposed to be a mentor to the children, but they ended up being a disaster. they lose the children's work then proceed to blame it on the same kid. they are supposed to build your kids up and encourage them to grow and do better. but all they did was yell then gave my kid the run-around. even when the answer was just something simple like having some extra help or just getting the stuff we paid for in the end. I'm just glad that I've finally made it out of Arkham asylum. I walked inside that building as a young impressionable kid and came back out with gray hair. this school is stressful. and I pray for anyone who darkens these doors. be wary. 4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI sent my child to this school and thought that it would be a better interment for her, but it wasn't my child constancy came home said kids were messing with her and I asked her did she tell anybody and she would say yes but the teaches would say nothing. So I guess when the child kept messing with her she did something when the other girl touched her, and a few weeks after that they put my child in the thing called pep where all the children did was nothing they just set there I would say my child did not learn nothing that year and now my child is in another school and she is learning much better things.Parent Review2mo ago

"very horrible transportation, I feel really sorry for those who don't have cars. it's a bad , unorganized, and corrupt place to live or visit. only the other part of Merrillville is catered to and kept nice. The part that is closest to Gary NEEDS help with their unreliable transportation! Called bus company 10x with voicemail no one EVER returned my call...Sad.(sums it up)"

"I drive so there’s no problem getting around and the roads are well maintained. You can drive from Merrillville to Chicago within 40 minutes. Having your own vehicle to get around would be ideal. "
