5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI was a student at Benjamin Franklin. I started at this school when I was in Pre-K, and I am now in the 9th grade at Lusher School. When I attended this school before Hurricane Katrina it was a magnet school meaning you had to take a test. After Katrina the school was obliged to allow any student in without taking a test. The teachers at Benjamin Franklin do not care about the child's education, they do not have a great disciplinary system at all and they just student do whatever they choose at this school. That is why I decided to leave for 8th grade at Lusher School. I will say that the only good thing about Benjamin Franklin is that it goes from Pre-K to 8th grade. "We love our neighborhood because of its proximity to the MIssissippi River. Often it feels a bit like being in the country inside the city limits. We love it’s proximity to downtown and that it can feel quiet and peaceful at the same time. "

"Holy Cross’s proximity to the levee it a huge plus for dog owners. The path along the ridge offers fantastic views of the city skyline, not to mention the neighborhood’s two iconic steamboat houses. "

"I've lived here for 3+ years and love it. It is a simple drive or bus ride to downtown (or beyond) but has the feeling of being in a charming town all it's own. Proximity to the riverfront is what made me buy here, but the neighbors are what I will remember most. Oh, and you can still see stars at night."
