I have two children that attended Alice Drive Elementary School. Every teacher they had were fantastic. The school recently received a STEM accreditation. The students collaborate on group projects frequently and the teachers development engaging lessons. The administrators are approachable and always willing to help.

The school administration has allowed faculty to harass, bully and retaliate against students. Students are assumed to be trouble, and with no evidence will be over-consequenced. If parents don't speak up and advocate for their children, it will only get worse. An administrator was in my sons face on camera yelling at him, he was harassing him at other times, I brought it to their attention and nothing was done. The principal even got offended when I asked why he was not on leave, as that is what their faculty handbook called for. The SRO assaulted my son twice last year, nothing was done. This year hes out on leave for an incident with a student. Situations that could be dealt with and preventing further problems are swept under the rug.

I wish I sent my child to another school.Questioning an instructor about my child’s work or grades is often considered as confrontational or reprisal towards my child in class. Teachers dont keep confidences as requested by parents in discussing email parent/teacher correspondence. It’s discussed with student even though parent asked it be keep confidential and not discussed with child.
