7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageGood school overall. History program-mostly leftist teachers who twist history-minimize the United States. Especially true of AP History. Example essay question to students applying to AP History ...Why do you think Barak Obama is one of our best Presidents? One teacher unplugs school PA system during Pledge Of Allegiance and if she has to do it, takes her hand off her heart when words "under God" are said and won't say them. Promotes you are a citizen of the world. Stickers/posters in classes highly tilted politically. Music Program lacks fairness with Director playing power games giving different levels of hardness test questions to students to favor or put down whoever he wants. Positions and awards can be based on favoritism or power games and have nothing to do with ability to play an instrument or skill level. Teacher tantrums are not unusual-have a demoralizing effect on talented students. Not doing "assigned" volunteer work can be taken out on you in other ways. AP Programs available in Math, Science, and English. Some excellent teachers (Environmental Science and Biology). Some excellent regular track Math Teachers. 4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI cannot say enough positive things about Citrus Glen. It is truly a hidden treasure of a school here in Ventura. There is a great sense of community at this school, and it is very evident in the relationships that the teachers form with their students. The principal (new as of the 2014-2015 school year) is active and can always be found walking the campus and is very personable to students and parents alike. We have experienced teachers in the TK, K and 3rd grade level so far and each one has been fabulous! It is obvious the the teachers and staff take great pride in the work they do at Citrus Glen. The PTA is very involved, and goes does a wonderful job of providing extra programs and events for the students. "Unfortunately gun shots and shootings are common in this area. Meaning inside actual saticoy. Surrounding neighborhoods are nice and good for trick or treating. I will say this... you rarely see homeless as compared to downtown or the avenue. Saticoy isn’t that bad when you compare it to the other side of town"

"People are generally friendly. I live in an apartment complex and people act like they own the place. They complain for everything, are not respectful or clean, leave notes for every little thing, but we keep to ourselves and so far it’s been mediocre. "
