About this House

SHOWINGS TO PREQUALIFIED APPLICANTS ONLY.
Clean and comfortable tiny house with incredible views for a responsible tenant in search of wide-open space (5-acre lot) and doesn't mind being in a remote area.
Some of the pictures show furniture. We can see what stays. If furniture has to be moved out, I will need to get a form of container/shed outside.

A high-efficiency mini-split unit allows rapid heating & cooling. Two ceiling fans, on-demand hot water, and double pane windows help reduce electricity bills. Hauled water to an XL water tank (no public water is available in the area). Water is delivered by a local licensed provider: no administrative fees, you just pay for the water you use, plain and simple ($150 for 2000 gallons at this time). A 5 G ATT tower is right there and the cell reception with Verizon is very good. Tenants have relied on their phone's hotspot for internet use.

The kitchen counts full-size electric stove, above-range microwave, medium sized fridge and handy cabinets with drawers. The bathroom has a shower, a window allowing airflow, a large vanity cabinet, and a nifty storing area below the ceiling.
A washing machine can be placed outside if desired (water and power supplies there)

LOCATION: 2 minutes off Hwy 247 for easy access (no 4x4 needed)! You are 10 min away from Landers (gas station, convenience stores, Dollar General, La Copine restaurant, Integratron, post office...), 20 min from Yucca Valley or Lucerne Valley, 25 min to Pioneertown or Joshua Tree, 1 hour to Big Bear for skiing in winter and cooling in summer. Johnson Valley is surrounded by great dirt roads and cool hikes. It's home of the world-famous King of the Hammer off-road driving competition.

No covered parking, but one side of the cabin is always in the shade.

This is a special place for the right person who is familiar with the area, respects the peace and quiet of the surroundings and keeps the inside of the cabin neat and clean. Absolutely no smoking inside. Minimum 1 year contract, hopefully more.

ONLY applicants with at least 1 xlnt reference from former landlords/rental managers + credit scores above 620 + monthly income at least 2.5x rent will approved for showings. No prior evictions.

All PET considered with $250 added to security deposit. Renter will need to provide proof of liability insurance covering pet (certain breeds are often excluded by insurance companies).

1 year, preference for long-term tenants.
Single occupancy preferred.
Tenant pays water and electricity.
Trash is free with provided county dump card.
$250 / pet added to security deposit. Certain breeds may be restricted per insurance. Tenant will be required to have a renter's insurance policy.

"Living in the High Desert is quiet and peaceful. The schools have a low ratio of pupils to teacher. Shopping is only 25 minutes away. In my opinion it's a great place to live!"
  • Ragedit2
"I have lived in the area for going on 10 yrs. This area is good for off roading, hiking and horse back riding. Entertainment & Nightlife is what you make it your in the wide open. Palm springs is but a 47.3 mi, 58 mins . Big Bear Lake is but 57.9 mi, 1 hour 12 mins. Oceanside is 143 mi, 2 hours 23 mins. San Diego is 210 mi, 3 hours 21 mins. "

"Where else in Southern California can you live and feel so far away from the problems of the city, yet be close enough to drive back in less than 20 min. Stars are incredible, largest off road riding area in the world, so quiet you can hear yourself think. It gets hot, but not THAT hot, this is high desert. The very hotest I've ever experienced was 114, and that was only twice. Summer temps are typically around 95 to 100. To keep cool we use evaporative coolers which work as well as air conditioning yet use a very small fraction of the power. Life here is good, IF you are retired, work from home, or work in one of the nearby towns. Johnson Valley has a neighborhood association that serves up a great Saturday morning breakfast, and monthly diners. Very inexpensive to live here. Orange County is only 2 hours away. A bit to far to commute, but within an easy drive which I do often. Many interesting things to see and do, check it out."

"I've been visiting the Meditation Center on Reche Road for years now. Quite a few people have relocated near there to be close to the peaceful atmosphere that the place exudes. It's not unusual to have 100 or so local folks of all faiths show up for some or the activities and get a chance to know one another. Landers attracts the kind of people that like their solitude and peace but they always have a freindly greeting at the post office and such. Views abound... Goat Mountain, San Jacinto, wonderful night skies and smog free air to breath. Summers can be warm but thanks to the dry climate the inexpensive evaporative coolers work wonderful and as for the winter temps -- mild and sunny for the most part. If you are a shop a holic or need to eat out often you'll need to drive the 20 minutes to Yucca Valley or Joshua Tree but if you are looking to be out of the hustle bustle of traffic and people Landers is worth considering. Cost of living is pretty reasonable too!"

"i live here and i think that is a really bad place to live more if you live alone it a lonely place and scary at nights."
