4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI don't even know where to begin to affectively discourage anyone from sending their child to this school. The culture needs a complete and total overhaul. The administration is AWFUL - non-supportive, uncaring and disengaged. The environment is one of violence and filthy disrespect and it will make your child a product of it. The principal, assistant principal and especially the counselors NEVER return calls or emails and couldn't care less about the success of your child. Teachers don't respond to your attempts to follow up on your child's progress. You aren't even allowed, let alone invited to view the classrooms during Back to School night. There are no parent teacher conferences and you better be wiling to FIGHT for a meeting with the school to set up any accommodations for an IEP or 504 plan. I would like to give praise to Alexandra Pereyr and Mr. Fisher for showing kindness and actually caring for their students. 9/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI was surprised to see the exemplary reviews because that was not our experience at Mt Rose. Our son is high-functioning autistic and rather than giving him the support he needed, they simply pushed him through to each grade level. When they would not allow him to be held back, we discussed getting him specialized tutoring to help lessen the gap between our son's performance and grade level. The principal, Ms. Brown told us, "you can get all the tutors you want but it's not going to make a difference." After hearing that, it was no small wonder why he wasn't getting the support he should have. Fortunately, we had an outstanding 5th grade teacher, who made a huge difference. I understand that teacher recently left the school. Despite living four blocks from Mt. Rose, our son was "not selected" to go to his elementary school for 6th grade and now has to ride the bus to Swope. Of course, he was notified at school before we were and he called us in hysterics. Three generations of our family went to Mt Rose. A few years ago, we actively advocated in the community with others to not tear it down. "During summer time. July is art town! I am an artist and Reno downtown is the best area for this. especially sculptures. Sculpture fest is coming up in May and I am very excited. Large art community down town. "

"Dog owners would like the long River walk down to the Truckee River. There is also a conservatory near the Truckee River just a stones throw away. I like the restaurant's and coffee shops in the area, it makes for a nice familiar place to meet friends at the end of a work day. I think it's the best part of Downtown, and has a steady flow of regulars. There is also some great breweries and bars to kick back and enjoy. "
