6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageOur disabled son got his nose broke, eardrum ruptured and a concussion while the entire school and staff was out on the field. Admin didnt call the school police till I demanded. Good teachers are hard to come by, I could name you 2 caring ones. The others are overworked and let the kids get away with bad behavior and disrespect. Quite a joke in the office to be frank. But all of this feeds from the top. I know this age kids are hard to manage but save yourself a heartache and find a different school.Parent Review1mo ago28 Reviews - Ocean Beach Elementary School

10/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy daughter has attended OB Elementary for the past two years, and our experience has been exceptional. We have been incredibly fortunate to have such dedicated and inspiring teachers, whose support and encouragement have played a significant role in her academic growth and success. During her time there, she has truly excelled in her schoolwork and developed a genuine enthusiasm for learning.Beyond academics, OB Elementary offers a wonderful variety of extracurricular activities, music programs, and community events throughout the year, creating a well-rounded and enriching environment for students and families alike. I have been consistently impressed by the school’s commitment to both educational excellence and student engagement. I would highly recommend OB Elementary to any family in the area seeking a supportive, vibrant, and high-quality educational experience for their children.Parent Review2mo ago27 Reviews - Point Loma High School

"Dog owners would like the proximity to sunset cliffs and being able to walk their pup along there. OB could use another dog park though. Rob Moine Field is not the best…"

"Getting in and out of town at certain times is rough. There are only a few streets that go in and out of ocean beach so late morning and 5pm the traffic is heavy. Wednesday is the worst at night because of the farmers market"

"There are several dog friendly places in OB...in the negative side of that, there are also some “bad apples” that are irresponsible pet owners that do not clean up consistently behind their pets which I often fear is going to result in the restrictions of this acceptance/privilege that is extended to them by the community and that unfortunately I predict will start with rental properties not allowing for pets. "Lots of dogs here, it is a very dog-friendly area. Within a few miles you have dog beach, fiesta Island which is the largest off-leash area we have ever seen and a couple other smaller dog parks. Most restaurants that have outdoor seating welcome pups as well as offer special dog menu items. OB loves dogs!"

"Ocean Beach is the quintessential small beach town with all the updated perks of modern living. Yes, there are some areas with tons of party type people / atmosphere. However, the residential streets away from Newport Ave with long-term residents, offer a peaceful living atmosphere with mature tree lined streets ... all with ocean views or walking distance too. Most old school residents are respectful and have a care for our earth vibe and keep clean yards and homes. The OB primary school is the cutest little school I've seen! The families are involved and the children seem happy. OB is close to all major freeways, downtown San Diego, Airport, Border, Sea World, and is in the center of it all. You do not need a car here. Public transportation, biking, walking, to all here is a breeze."

"I wouldn't say that it's unique at all. It's great being close to the beach, but it's the noisiest neighborhood I've EVER lived in. There are some nice people, but most are very loud, rude and always partying. And I can can hear every car and loud motorcycle that goes by. "
