5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy son is in his first year at Alta Loma and we love it. He is excited to come to school every day and he has an incredibly loving and fantastic teacher. The teachers and staff are visibly working so hard to make Alta Loma a wonderful and supportive environment for their students. The school’s communication to parents is thorough and they appear to do a great job at taking advantage of resources available. There’s a really lovely energy on the Alta Loma campus and we’re so happy to have our son enrolled.Parent Review5mo ago - Los Angeles Senior High School

3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI am curious, Firstly I would like to address the teachers, the whole point of going to school is to get educated. Your primary responsibility is to ensure your students succeed and achieve good passing grades. The school is rated 1 out or 10, English math and science pass rates are so low, but after reading all the reviews by teachers and friends of teachers its all about how the school is the "Greatest". Live by your words and ensure the students succeed, offer after school programs extra studies... make sure each and every student as the very least can meet the national average. For all parents out there, protect your children and stay away from this school. I hope this review is educational and please lets make our public schools better our children deserve it.!!Parent Review8mo ago - Check out schools near 4806 Pickford St.

What Locals Say about Mid City
- Paul N Caporaso
- Resident
- 3mo ago
"Diversity and architecture are both very important aspects of the neighborhood. There are great small businesses as well, especially along Pico. Needs safer streets though as cars speed all the time and the area is pinch point for several main boulevards. "
- Trulia User
- Resident
- 5mo ago
"Parents need to be vigilant even if this is, relatively speaking, a safe neighborhood. Still, lighting is spotty in places. Carrying flashlights and moving in small groups are both good ideas for evenings"
- Trulia User
- Resident
- 5mo ago
"Holiday events and block parties make this a nice and special neighborhood. It feels like a safe environment and people are generally friendly and neighborly."
- Trulia User
- Resident

"The neighborhood is okay. Neighbors are not very neighborly. Close to Larchmont Village. I enjoy going there and going to the Farmers Market on Sunday or people watching. "

- Trulia User

"This neighborhood has lots of free campsites for homeless residents. The general lack of parking spaces also makes parking a fun adventure that can last hours."
- Trulia User

"The HPOZ in Miracle Mile is great, but walking on main sector streets right now is not very pleasant due to LAs rampant homelessness issue. "
- Trulia User

"A lot a families in this neighborhood. A lot of crime too. I don’t feel unsafe but I would let my kid play by himself here."

"There’s a lot of dogs around and there’s even an eco friendly dog wash in the neighborhood. At times there are dogs roaming off leash and random cats around but not a big deal I guess. I don’t own a dog so I’m not to sure what dog owners are looking for. "

"Miracle Mile is quieter than other mid-City neighborhoods, and crime is relatively low, but it’s still Morgantown to be vigilant and mindful of drivers going too fast, even on block with speed bumps."
- Jennaobando27
- Resident
- 3y ago
"It’s walkable and accessible to a lot of public parks nearby. It’s not too loud and overall a peaceful neighborhood."

"It’s very Peaceful and quite and there’s a lot of shopping centers near by to shop. Also healthy options as well. "
- Isabelle M.
- Resident

"People walk their dogs all the time and at all hours of the day. Women will walk their dogs by themselves at night in the neighborhood, and it's safe! If you have a dog, this is a great area for walks."
- Jhowler
- Resident
- 3y ago
"Residents are respectful of dog owners, as long as dogs are on leashes and their owners clean up after them, both of which are true the majority of the time, at least since I’ve been living here. Barking dogs can be an issue, with some residents allowing their pets to “express” themselves for longer than they shouldbefore calming them. This is my only dog related complaint."
- Kimberface
- Resident
- 3y ago
"There are many families in this neighborhood. There are a couple of mediocre parks nearby. I don't think the neighborhood is necessarily the safest place but it's not the most dangerous by any means either. Midcity lands in the middle across the board. "
- Nils T. S.
- Resident
- 3y ago
"it is a nice community of property owners that really care about their community. Friendly. always says Hi. Not a lot of homeless freaks. Feels safe at all times. "
- Heather K.

"The neighborhood is very family friendly. Dog friendly. Good for walking. Restaurants and shopping nearby. "
- Adahglenn
- Resident
- 3y ago
"I grew up in this neighborhood and raised my kids here. It’s not perfect but a nice L.A. neighborhood. "
- Yoch91
- Resident
- 3y ago
"Not many community events. There doesn’t appear to be a lot of community interaction or pride for mid city. Just very nice location for being central to all the fun destinations."
- Wendy C.
- Resident
- 3y ago
"Close to many restaurants and museums. Not a long drive to get downtown. Some Block parties happen nearby"
- Neda Z.
- Resident

"They would like it here, lots of place to walk the dogs around in this neighborhood. And not very much traffic. "
- Angiebgarnett
- Resident

"I don’t work far so it’s easy. Mid city is very accessible, and trips to downtown are easy. It’s also pretty easy to get to Santa Monica "
- Aimee M.

"Moderately good. Lots of shortcuts around and quite accessible. I like it but car insurance is too expensive in this area."
- Taylor H.

"Lots of grass and friendly neighbors. People from outside the neighborhood come here just so they can walk their dogs. It’s lovely!"
