About this House

OPEN HOUSE THIS SATURDAY MARCH 7th, 2026, 10AM-2PM

This home is ecologically designed to harvest rain water, retrofitted with non-toxic materials and utilizes energy-saving features essential for healthy & comfortable Sonoran Desert living!

A 3,000 gallon rainwater harvesting tank, gray-water and storm-water harvest thousands of gallons/year to irrigate the many trees, creating a lush oasis in the desert that shade and cool the home in the summer - all while conserving water!

The house's electric meter has NO RADIO and does not emit potentially harmful radiation.

Double-pane, "Energy Star" windows are installed throughout, oriented with passive solar heating and cooling in mind.

The home is tiled throughout with large format tile. The kitchen was recently updated with a granite counter top.

The house is equipped with an efficient "single-entry" MasterCool evaporative cooler and Energy Star gas furnace. Zone-cooling is provided in all bedrooms and the living room, via wall-mounted window A/C units, for maximum control and efficiency, as well as ceiling fans in every room to improve ventilation.

The roof has been generously insulated to R60! And it was installed with RadientBarrier foil underneath the shingles, to better reflect solar radiation.

The above ecological retrofits can save tenants HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS A MONTH in utilities!

Three mature grapefruit trees in the front yard are laden with fruit and provide abundant shade, perfect for a patio set and hammock.

The neighborhood park was recently updated, just down the street. Lot's of grass, pine trees and playground equipment for children and dog-walkers.

Conveniently, the neighborhood gets very little "cut-through" traffic due to the layout of its streets. Therefore speeding is kept to a minimum and is safe for children to play outside.

Overall, home is centrally located in a safe neighborhood in midtown Tucson, convenient to downtown and shopping, dining, hospitals, etc.

This is your private home and landlord lives offsite, however, we do have access to a storage garage at back of property.

This is the ideal home for a small family that appreciates conserving water and energy, gardens and composts their kitchen scraps, enjoys bird watching, climbs trees, eats grapefruit and is excited to live in harmony with nature!

Renter pays all utilities. Pets extra. You may use Zillow's credit/background criminal history service, however we meet all prospective tenants in-person for approval. We may run additional credit/background checks on all prospective adult tenants, if necessary. We go over our paper lease in-person with prospects.

  • Becky Prince
"There is easy access to your bus routes and it is minutes to downtown. Shopping is walking distance. Excellent restaurants and live music on most weekends. Neighbors are well educated, friendly, and ages range from 1 to the 90s. There are a lot of walkers in the morning and evening and parks, golf, tennis, and a community are blocks away. "
  • Larryaasher
"It’s a nice neighborhood lots of friendly people. I can’t think of anything else to say. There an elementary school nearby. "
  • 2hxywnp7rd
"I like the overall neighborhood it has a good feel and my neighbors are kind but not in my business "
  • Carrie Anne
"Not a very kid friendly city in general, but if you live on the outskirts of Tucson; East- Tanque Verde/Vail, North (Oro Valley), West(Picture Rocks), and far south (Sahuarita) then it’s pretty nice!"
  • Carrie Anne
"Not much to do for kids. Bad schools. Almost no parks in the area, side walks randomly cease. It’s 100+degrees for 2/3rds of the year. Don’t recommend "
  • P Dublin
"We have a neighborhood association (not an HOA) that puts on events in our little local park. Events like Mother’s Day celebrations, movie nights, back to school BBQ, Friday nights at the park with food trucks. We also have a community garden. My neighborhood (Colonial del Valley) is mostly elderly people who raised their kids here and a mix of younger people who are buying homes from relatives. "
  • Macyrclark
"This area is my bubble has everything most of the restaurants are walking distance from where we are but a little to hot for walking but could in the off season for sure."
  • Angelkatrina7
"There are a lot of dog walkers in the neighborhood. There are, however, a fair number of stray cats in the neighborhood & that can upset some dogs. "
  • Loveashley526
"Dog owners would really like the face that its a safe area and there are a lot of dogs and dog friendly people, "
  • Marie
"Great friendly neighborhood- lots of people walking dogs and being active. The views are amazing and there is shopping close by "
  • Shanice Gonzalez
"They would like the decent space the dogs have in the yards and close walks to Jacob’s Park. At the park, there is a dog park as well. They may not like reckless drivers that cut through the neighborhood streets at times. This would usually occur at night though. There are many dogs in this neighborhood, mostly friendly and very few would ever get out. "
  • 2hxywnp7rd
"The streets are dark at night T. Take all safety precautions to keep loved ones safe. Make sure if your a bike rider you have all legal lights. "
  • Penny Donnelly
"Movies in the park, community gardens, within walking distance to mall, frisbee park, good restaurants nearby"

  • J2t55y5rdn
"Rita Ranch is a quiet little suburb. People are friendly enough but not over bearing. Most neighborhoods facilities are maintained to the bare minimum, yards are mostly well kept, amenities are lacking in the area "
  • Trulia User
"Unfortunately, there is no special events in our community neighborhood or anything around here. Maybe one day things will change."
  • Uriv.223

  • BP
"It is centrally located near Reid Park. You can easily walk to the bus stops nearby. It is minutes away from the university and shopping downtown or a variety of shops, eating establishments, and the mall is not far away. There is also a fire station nearby, but not too close to be disturbing. "
  • Mary Earney-stoe
"I’ve lived here since the first house was built. Perfect neighborhood for my family. The pool is wonderful and so are the little playgrounds. There also sidewalks available for walking."
  • Trulia User
"This neighborhood use to be awesome. We would play outside and it was safe. Once families moved out and investors came in and started renting out these homes it was no longer safe. "
