4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI don't even want to give this school a star. I do not like this school one bit. My son first year of school he was being bullied. I went up the school to talk to about what they were going to do. Instead of them fixing the problem all of a sudden, the teacher started having issues with my son. My son is now dealing with teachers and their inappropriate comments that they make. One teacher told my son that she did not like him and then the next day apologize for saying it. The teachers there are nothing but grown teenagers. They are not there to teach students at all but to degrade them.Parent Review2y ago - Tempe High School

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWe have two kids attending Tempe High School, a freshman and a junior. They are taking rigorous honors and International Baccalaureate (IB) classes (honors level for 9th and 10th grade, International Baccalaureate for 10th & 12th grade) and they are involved in sports and other extracurricular activities. They are both thriving there. Instead of Advanced Placement (AP) classes, the school offers the rigorous IB curriculum, a program that is recognized worldwide, unlike AP classes. We have had an excellent experience interacting with the teachers and the school administration. Tempe High School is the only high school we know of that holds one-on-one parent-teacher conferences twice a year. I feel our kids' teachers have really gotten to know the kids and our daughter and son have thrived there. We have noticed that seniors and even juniors have been very supported in the college application process. Several seniors for the past few years have been accepted in all types of colleges, ranging from elite colleges like Stanford, Northwestern, Williams College, Notre Dame to public universities in Arizona and out of state. There might be a false narrative/stereotype that Tempe High School might be a "rough" school but the fact is that it is a school with a diverse student population and it's not a very big school. Those are strong points and it's a place where all types of students can feel comfortable.Parent Review1y ago

"I have lived here since the 80s. One of the first things new residents say is how friendly and involved in a good way neighbors are. We have a neighborhood association that doesn't care about what color the plants are in your yard but has ice cream socials and brings in grants for free trees to enhance the walks that so many take in the neighborhood. Lots of staff and faculty from nearby ASU make it a diverse and interesting neighborhood."
