"There are signs for farmers markets. I believe in Halloween they have some type of festival in the placerville area. "

"high risk of wild fires and large wild animals, such as bears and mountain lions. MUST drive with very high precautions, specially in winter weather. Sly park lake is BEAUTIFUL. "

"The area offers tranquility. Very peaceful. The area does receive snow but at 4,000 foot elevation it is quite manageable. The roads are plowed when needed. Surrounding the Grizzly Flats community is El Dorado National Forest land. Hiking, motorcycle riding, 4 wheeling in the snow, sledding, tubing, fishing are just some of the activities the area has to offer. This is a great home or vacation home. "

"Grizzly Flat is a wonderful, close knit community. The new buyer must be prepared to be without power for up to 7 days in the winter with up to 4 feet of snow in 3 days. The most we've seen in the spring is this past March 6 feet in eight days! Also, homeowners insurance is difficult to come by due to the hazardous fire area. AAA is one of the few that still insure up here. Come prepared and enjoy!"
