5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy children were constantly discriminated against by staff members. My youngest would come home and tell me every day about people bringing drugs/vapes and distributing it. One time another student from a school came to fight one from Lookout Valley, during school.Parent Review2mo ago - Calvin Donaldson Environmental Science Academy

3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageCommunity members who don't even have children attending this school are involved as well as parents and businesses who believe in the children and teachers at Calvin Donaldson. The atmosphere is upbeat and positive and while they have much to overcome, they are doing it, one day at a time. Budget cuts? They push forward. You can't stop them.Other Review13y ago - Chattanooga State Mid College High School

9/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageBy far, this school is the only way to go in Chattanooga. These students are college ready before they complete their 9th grade, and they are living breathing college from day one. Absolutely no other school on this side of the state comes anywhere near the test scores or graduation rates. And a nice plus - the leadership and staff are a pleasure to work with. They know their stuff and treat our children as if they were theirs. I've looked to relocate with my job to other states, and I can tell you that a program this good is very, very rare indeed. This one school is worth staying here until they graduate and in the U of Tn system for another two years at least.Parent Review5y ago - Hamilton County Virtual School

3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating Averagesame as everyone else. There are problems with the high school they don't really teach they just yell at the kids they just have a very boring "do this" and never actually get any learning.Parent Review1y ago - STEM School Chattanooga

8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageFor the 2015-2016 school year I have been extremely pleased with STEM school. The principal and staff members actually want their students to succeed. The class sizes are small, students take ownership of their work and other responsibilities, and the environment is exactly what I wanted for my son.Parent Review8y ago - Check out schools near 4115 Alabama Ave.

"My ten year old has made so many friends in the neighborhood over the years. Kids will get together for bike rides, play at the park, etc. The communication between parents and the community aspect of the neighborhood are wonderful! This is a safe place for kids to grow up and explore in such a lovely historic neighborhood full of the most amazing trees, not to mention the lovely views of Lookout. Glad to call St. Elmo home. "

"Cars drive fast down the main roads and I don't feel safe letting my kids play in the front yard. I even get nervous as they walk down the sidewalk to the car. Back streets are safer. "

"It depends on the owner. Not particularly friendly to dogs. I think most people are OK with dogs but get annoyed with barking. If I were a dog I would rather run free more than I could here."
