1 star My daughter left this school because the children act they way the “leaders” act it’s unfortunate that I had to bring her back

My children both attend Marshall Junior High School and love it. We have found the diversity of classes offered to be amazing for the junior high level and unrivaled by any local junior highs. Beyond having three academic levels to choose from for core classes, there are a plethora of electives including choir, orchestra, band, dance, art, speech, theatre (classes in both performance and history of), athletics, and business classes. The new campus is beautiful and well laid out inside. The teachers are dedicated and have been extremely responsive. They have even attended extracurricular events just to cheer on my children.

The principal was very rude. I am a 30-year-old woman with a child at the school and I’m not sure if principal thought I was a teenager, but was extremely rude. First day of school. My daughter was 1min late so I go to the office with her since it’s her first day of school And she doesn’t know anything about the school and neither do I . we just moved here from a different state and everything is different . Making your kids pledge to the flag is knew to us. And I don’t make my kids do it since I’ve read up on the history of it. you’re making the kids pledge something that they’re not even aware of what they are pledging for . She was rude to a random student who was late I feel so bad for the little kid the way that she yelled at him and she just went ahead and told me you know that if you’re late again, you have to pay a fine of so so much money and you’re gonna have to go to court and it’s a misdemeanor and so on. Did I get a hello good morning how are you today? No warm welcome to my child. Who is the new student here. I don’t know what her outcome of the conversation was . But it definitely wasn’t the way to approach it and I don’t like being threatened just because my daughter was late. The staff needs to do better, and I’m just curious as to who appointed the principal thank you to the assistant principal for making me feel a little bit OK for having my daughter attend the school. But I assure you we will not be coming back after the school year is over.
