Have had so many problems with this school. Highly recommend NOT putting your in this school. My kids have been bullied and the teachers / principal does nothing about it. My daughter was hit by a boy and they only made the boy pick up trash in the play ground 1 day. There's no communication what so ever with the administration, and most of the administration are just rude and highly unprofessional. The nurse is not there full time just an assistant and she cant do everything a nuse can. With no nurse full time and lack of communication, I hope every day there's not an emergency. If it's not one thing it's another with this school. My kids strongly dislike this school and I agree with them. The only good thing about this school is the special education department they have helped my kids alot in areas they struggle in.

I think Hayes is a great school. It is much smaller than most of the other schools in the area. The teachers really get to know their students. Parents are given many opportunities to be involved in their child's education.

For the 2014-15 term, Highland got a new principal. He is incredibly driven and strives to make connections with students, supporting them however possible. His enthusiasm is contagious, and he makes it clear he truly cares about students. While there are surely some teachers who are lacking that same enthusiasm, there are some stellar teachers who work endlessly to educate their students. Highland presents a welcoming environment, filled with diversity. I was hesitant to start attending the school last year, having heard about a negative reputation. I was pleasantly surprised. As a sophomore moving into my second semester, I am faced with nothing but future opportunities, encouragement, and guidance as I move forward. Thank you, Highland, for letting me grow as a person.
