6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI’m in eighth grade and I still can’t say much for lionville middle school. It is an average school and it is probably a better school than some but it isn’t amazing in particular. For homework, i give it a below average rating. In 7th grade i got even less homework than 6th, I was happy and I like only having work in class but it didn’t prepare me for 8th grade. I have never had to study before but now I do and nobody is there to tell me how or when to do so. Even with the sudden increase I still have a lot less homework than I know is expected of 9th grade and I will definitely be not ready and confused all over again. The teachers are nice. I don’t really run into problems with any of them and some of them are really really great!I think this school has effective leadership. I had the opportunity to run my own club last year and we often get the option to work in groups which has taught me about how to work well with others. Other than teaching effective leadership I think the school also has it too. I can tell they care about the students and want to guide them to whats best.I think the school is making an effort to try to teach students good character and I can not say I have ever seen bullying before either. There is probably some bullying but it seems to be less than average from talking to friends in other districts and watching tv, I feel like our school isn’t bad.I can not say anything for learning differences as I do not need any special help nor do I know somebody who does.Same as the character thing. There seems to be not much and there has been an effort in health class and from the counselor to encourage reporting and standing up to any bullies.Student Review2y ago - Downingtown High School East Campus

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageAs a graduate of the last graduation class with a senior ring that has DHS on it instead of DEHS or DWHS, they do an excellent job preparing their students for college. In my freshman English class at PSU my professor will highly satisfied with my writing skills as well as research skills to write an excellent paper again and again with little or no guidance. Downingtown has great teachers and a wide variety of classes to pick from. Not sure if they still offer unique English alternative classes but War and Peace Conflict English was by far the most engaging English class I have ever taken. It made me interested in writing and the teacher was so enthusiast it truly made learning fun. Not sure if he is still teaching but Mr. Appel with the best!!Teacher Review10y ago - Pickering Valley El School

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageSomething about the great schools scoring grade here is a complete disconnect. This school is a truly impressive collection of teachers and administrators who clearly love their kids and what they pour into the classroom. Could this rating be fouled up by some Covid metric. No way this isn't a top school. Period full stop. My kids LOVED the 6th grade center and its focus on scaling elementary kids into the next level. Brilliant right down to the right sized desks and lockers FOR THE SCALE of 11 and 12 year olds. Amazing trips, intro to sciences on a more mature scale, social adaptation, self responsibility on and on. Sorry raters, this unique school for transitioning elementary to middle is BRILLIANT. I give it a 9.5Parent Review8mo ago - Check out schools near 406 Redbud Ln.

"It is a beautiful neighborhood that connects to a large horse farm and woods. The wildlife is amazing where you commonly see fox, deer, groundhogs, and of course horses. Hot air balloons fly overhead on nice mornings and evenings. There are several families that live in the area and kids playing in the neighborhood. "
