"Quiet neighborhood. Close to shopping and schools. Most people are either law enforcement or Border Patrol in this neighborhood. Great people, easy access to shopping within 5 minutes, and enjoyable to be at. Average person here in probably mid 30’s and older. "
  • Luis Angel Jaquez
"Everyone is the community is friendly and helpful, especially with a dog. We basically all know each other and if we don’t we are very inviting. This neighborhood is very safe to go for a walk safely, Even after dark. I call it home sweet home "
  • Trulia User
"park close by..dollar general..and small convenience store with gas..makes it a nice area to get away from town..and relax"
  • Trulia User
"I’ve lived here for a week. I left most of my belongings outside and no one bothered with it. Neighbors have been great and the traffic is minimal. "
  • Debra
"Very quiet neighborhood, most people keep to themselves. You rarely see children outside playing. Some of the schools are close, a Junior College is nearby as well as a small park, well maintained park. There is a variety of fast food chains as well as restaurants fairly close. Plenty of daycares within a short distance. "
  • Jonmersch20
"There are many people who walk their dogs daily in this area. Also a park down the street that you can take and let them run freely without any harm"
  • Alex D.
"Need a car to get around. There is public transportation but none near neighborhoods. Traffic is minimal"
  • Omar M.
"At work in 15 min. If I worked on town, it would take 5 minutes to 10 minutes at the most. Some public transportation but the city has just about everything within miles of wherever you live. Roads are starting to get paved which makes it a smoother ride."
  • Ashley E.
"people hardly walk, and I never see anyone clean after there dogs but there are alot of stray dogs out in this neighborhood not many are friendly or clean"
  • Carrie K.
"Dogs are always running wild. People leave dogs out for days on end. Even if people keep the dogs in their homes they’ll let them go outside to potty without any leashes, or fenced yards. "
  • Ashleybencomo777
"The city is very family oriented, however still kinda dangerous.. many people cross the river and can break into your home or kidnap .. not a city to let you kids loose unless you live in gated community "
  • Damionliu2000
"Someone in the Del Rio community likes to skin dogs and hang their corpses on street signs for all to see."
  • Regina
"A good distance from main shopping areas, but excellent because of privacy and distance from the hustle & bustle of through traffic and community noise. The neighborhood is very quiet and neighbors are friendly and helpful."
  • Axmayfi
"I love del rio this is my home town and i want my kids to grow up here near my family and friends its real calm "
  • J Ward
"My neighborhood is a great place to live. we love the privacy, our neighbors and the trees! i definitely recommend south Del Rio"
  • Unknown N.
"Vicious noisy, stray ,rabid dogs roam the streets animal control in nonexistent, must carry a weapon just in case."
  • addiecweston
"you see many people walking their dogs. there are some that roam though so you may want to be careful. there are areas in neighborhoods where dogs can run free though. "
  • Shawn Sommers
"The community is fantastic as a whole. Everyone is friendly and welcoming. The only downside is a shortage of available jobs."
  • USN HMC-FMF
"Nice small town. Border town is within minutes and offers a great experience for travelers.........."
  • Omar M.
"Quite peaceful area full of mature trees. Neighbors are friendly and look out for each other. Big yards for pets and family gatherings. Also helps keep to yourself for your own privacy."
  • Garcia_69ro
"I have lived here for 11 years. people are usually friendly. My wife is from here born and raised. I am from another small town called Eagle Pass."

"Easy going, not a lot of traffic, even with a school up the road. Far from convenience stores or grocery stores. Needing a car in this area is a must. "
  • Eddie P.
"The streets are horrible. The city does not maintain them well, county roads are better paved than city streets."
  • Barbara H.
"Excellent area for vacation or retirement. Quiet, safe, lots of wildlife, beautiful sunsets and sunrises. Endless opportunities for wildlife and bird gazing from the kitchne window or patio. 2 convenient cafes only 5 minutes away, boat launch only 6 minutes from home. Oursanding view of the Devil's River. "
  • jdavid
