Terrible school. I had two children here and pulled them both out as soon as I was able. The school provided no support for my special ed child who was bullied; they essentially told her to just stop being bullied. They also did not provide proper support for her learning needs (she was assigned a speech language pathologist when she needed help with social/emotional and executive function issues). After the staff refused to do anything about a boy kept putting his arm around my daughter's and her female friends waists and shoulders, she punched him when he grabbed her and then she was disciplined for it. She was similarly subjected to ethnic/racial slurs, when the kids yelling them had no real repercussions. The teachers, for the most part, were no better. Her math teacher allowed students to roam around the room during class, ignored students who bulled my kid over classroom chat, and then told my daughter to ignore it when she complained. I could never have imagined that a school could be as uncaring as this one. My younger kid, who was there only for two years of elementary school, had a decent experience because she was able to ignore the chaos and learn on her own. But that is because of her easy-going and studious nature, no credit at all to the teachers. Family engagement was solely in Spanish, so if you're not a Spanish speaker don't expect to see anything that you can understand without translation. Do not send your kid here if you have a choice.

principal lacks leadership and communication skills. Lots of behavioral issues including violence on campus, littering all over the community shopping centers and local neighborhoods, doing drugs in cars before and after school. The TL High School principal personally goes out herself to check on traffic control, safety, and construction. Joe D the SRHS principal is rarely seen - he might consider shadowing TL’s principal for a few days to see how a high functioning administration works and how to also work well with your community and neighbors and how to keep your students safe. There are SR students literally jumping over metal fences at construction sites and running for cross country class in the middle of a high traffic road — running in the middle of the road against traffic up a blind curve. It’s complete chaos.

Wonderful school! Both of my kids got into the college of their choice. Great teachers!
