The Julia Rose West is a lovely, historic, light-filled home and located three blocks from Main Street. It is very clean, cozy and perfect for couples, traveling medical and remote workers. The living room has wood floors, spacious seating, and Firestick TV with a mini split for A/C. Kitchen is fully stocked for full cooking. One Queen bed in BR, one queen Murphy bed in Living Room. Total is Two queen size beds. Private garden patio. This space is the West side of a duplex with a 3BR short term on the East side. Fast WiFi. Pets allowed case by case. Multi-mo.stay discounts.

My historic Victorian home was built in 1898 and has been updated with contemporary elements and perfect for remote or temp medical workers. The unit is called The Julia Rose West. There is one bedroom with a queen size bed, and a queen size murphy bed in the living room. The living room is the largest area in the home and can be used as the main sleeping area. There is a gorgeous light-filled nook in the living room with a table/desk that is perfect for remote workers. There is also a full-sized couch, comfy reading corner, and a TV with an Amazon Fire Stick in the living room. A mini split provides A/C. The space accommodates 2 comfortably and if you have a child or 2 that works, but it is too small for a family of 4.

The kitchen is fully stocked for eating and cooking, so you can make anything from a gourmet dinner to a smoothie. There is a microwave, dishwasher, oven, full-size refrigerator, and electric range. There are pots, pans, utensils, spices, bowels, a coffee maker, and anything else you might need for cooking. The kitchen has a granite counter with a counter height table and a new washer and dryer.

The bedroom is European style (small) but cozy and comfortable with a new mattress and new bedding. The sheets are organic cotton. The bedroom area is small, but if you prefer more sleeping space you can always use it as your dressing room and sleep on the comfortable murphy bed in the living room. The back bedroom adjoins the bathroom. There is a window A/C in summer months.

The Bathroom is tiled with a shower/tub so you can soak and relax after a long day out. PLEASE NOTE: The bathroom is very small, and guests have to walk through the bedroom to get to the bathroom. Please be forewarned that The Julia Rose may not be a good fit for people who weight more than 250 lbs, have difficulties moving around, or require a spacious bathroom.

The duplex neighbors on the East side of the property have dedicated use of the front porch and not part of this rental. However, the space has its own back patio with a shared propane grill and outdoor furniture to relax in privacy and comfort. The entrances are separate. There is extra sound insulation between the two units.

There is space for one car in the parking lot with a back and front door entrance if you prefer to park in the street. NOTE: During winter weather the back entrance is closed off due to dangerous ice and snow build up coming off the roof at the back door.

This house is in a prime downtown location in the "on the grid" historic neighborhood. Main Street is three blocks away, and you will be close to all of the restaurants and downtown coffee shops and shopping. Despite its proximity to everything, it is a quiet spot. The Julia Rose West is also located close to hiking, biking and running trails, Fort Lewis College, and is only a thirty minute drive from the ski mountain. The closest grocery store is a five minute drive away.

My home is a duplex, and your unit is on the WEST SIDE, entry at the 9th street door with the plaque and red sunflower that says The Julia Rose.
Back door is on West North side through the side gate small fenced area. We will send a code to enter the front door after you reserve the space.

There is space for one car in the parking lot with a back and front door entrance if you prefer to park in the street. The flat screen TV has an Amazon Fire Stick so you can watch all your favorite channels! WIFI is cable internet 180MPS.

Upon arrival, you will enter the house with a coded lock. The front door is closer to unpacking and unloading and the back door is closer to the off the street parking.

You can settle in by having a cool drink on the back patio or walking a few blocks to Main Avenue to relax at one of the coffee shops or brewpubs.

Please note this is a non-smoking unit, which includes vaping/THC smoking. We are very strict with our no-smoking policy. If you are a smoker do not book this space, even if you do not smoke on the property. Smoke clings to clothing and pollutes the house.

I and my property manager love taking care of the house and its guests, and everyone loves the Julia Rose and we think you will too!

This is a fully furnished rental and all utilities are included including wifi. The lease is a 30 day minimum per City of Durango code. A lease with a refundable deposit OR travel insurance is required. Lease holders must show proof of renters insurance or liability coverage that might be in your home owner insurance.
