"South Park is great as it offers proximity to the restaurants, businesses, entertainment in DTLA, but feels less crowded/congested. The sidewalks are a bit wider, especially great if walking a dog, and the Business Improvement District staff are friendly, almost always around, and helpful. They help keep the streets clean, but also for the most part people in the area a generally mindful of picking up after themselves or pets."
  • 2tzzgkcjtz
"There are dogs everywhere. The bars and restaurants are all dog friendly. More green space is needed, but it doesn’t stop this from being a dog friendly neighborhood. "
  • James Idell
"Public transit is not reliable you need a car for sure to get the most out of living in LA. Weather is nice for sure."
  • Joaquin
"Long drive to Beverly Hills during traffic hour. The worst coming back as well. It’s terrible if you have a commute more than 4 miles out."
  • Trulia User
"DTLA is for younger people and I think at the ripe age in the 40's the quiet life is what's best. It's fun and exciting for the youth. "
  • Anubise The Sun
"You’ll love that there are tons of dogs around. You won’t like that there’s no where to walk them anytime ever."
  • Derek Ko
"Downtown is not good for baby. There is no playground. And no schools. But there are many restaurants. And little expensive. "
  • Bradleybell
"This place is crazy. One day it could be nice but some harsh decisions would need to take place for that to happen. "
  • Jazleen Senshi
"Don’t live here it’s not safe at all. And it’s dirty and smells bad. No where to go either. You can’t enjoy being outside"
  • 7r6vvrxtc2
"Bums everywhere, screaming….lots of oglers when walking down the street….crowded, no playgrounds . Good for visit, not for living. "
  • Trulia User
"I wouldn’t raise a child here. Look further out. There are nice apartments, sure, but the environment alone isn’t great for walks or going out with kids. "
  • 9xdf998h6h
"I don’t feel downtown has a thing great to offer other than some restaurants and some events that happen "
  • Trulia User
"Don’t walk around here late night because it is lonely and somewhat dangerous there’s too many mental homeless people and it’s not a place that you see kids walking around by themselves, there’s not much too walk too unless you go down to the art district or wholesale shops "
  • Trulia User
"it's very safe place for kids Will it areas at night very open clear spaces to see in the very open community"
  • Trulia User
"Safety , friendliness, clean building, laundry and dryer on site. manager accessibility and immediate maintenance accessibility or contact. September availability even though I am flexible. acceptance of a cat. respect from management neighbors and persons on staff. accessibility to resolve any building conflicts and to have necessary accessibility for handicap individuals. that are in my family. A system that is equal to neighborhood watch. kindness and respect towards neighbors and others in general. Accessibility to reputable grocery stores with delivery options. neighborhood watch and farmers markets. security guards and gated buildings are always a plus."
  • Trulia User
"Getting robbed by the local fentanyl addicts walking through their meth lair hidden under the bridge"
  • Trulia User
"There is a pretty cool gated dog park on S Spring and 5th street where dogs can play and run freely. "
  • Trulia User

  • Trulia User
"lots of homeless people. some cool restaurants and bars, but it’s hard to enjoy them because safety is not something that is present."
  • Trulia User
"City life; you get to experience a New York City Vibe. It is always fun interesting. You get to meet a lot of cool people."
  • Trulia User
"Convenience, selection of entertainment and dining, always a night life going on. The availability of events."
  • Mr. T
"I’ve lived in Bunker Hill (NW side) for about 2 years now and the management companies are the ONLY differentiator for you loving or hating where you live. Goldrich Kest is manages both of their buildings with so much thoughtfulness and care that you cant help but feel like you are in an inclusive and safe community. They throw events like movies nights and free bbqs here and there so the neighbors to come and interact with each other. Service requests are handled expediently and I have never heard of anyone breaking into parking garage… which is more than I can say for properties south of 5th street. Since Bunker Hill is in the Business District, there is a neighborhood security company that regularly patrols the area (purple shirts) and cleans up all trash. The occasional homeless is few and far between. Now, the ONLY negative I have is that there is occasionally street racing/burnouts on lower grand around that starts at around 11pm and goes till approx. 1am at times. Police are always called but they have watchers and can never be fully stopped. Just make sure you are asleep befor"
  • Trulia User
"They would love it actually people are so nice and welcoming ! So many dogs everywhere and friendly faces "
  • Trulia User
"I do not currently have a dog actually so I cannot actually answer this question. I see alot of dogs and owners so this seems like a popular neighborhood for 🐕."
  • Trulia User
"A lot of sidewalks not grass area only two dog parks not close to each other ! Much traffic with cars and public transportation."
  • Trulia User
"I’ve lived in DTLA since 2012. The best restaurants are all here. Museums within easy walking distance. I hate the gentrification & the people/ridiculous developments it brought, but that’s me. I’d rather see historic buildings used for adaptive reuse for lofts and local businesses. Perla (400 S Broadway) is an eyesore and all wrong for the historic core. I never imagined I’d have that & an Apple Store on my street when I moved in. There are some benefits, but everyone that made DTLA cool came from the people who (in too many cases) were driven out after their rent went up. There are still some great people, but the types I wanted to avoid inevitably moved here in droves later on. Oh well. "
  • Trulia User
"Dogs are mostly well behaved and/or trained. Even big breeds are friendly or they are well controlled and properly leashed by their owner(s)."
  • Trulia User
"Homeless situation is not ideal and pate nights are not very safe, but you have access to many restaurants and bars. "
  • Trulia User
"Everything is walking distance and you can find building with great amenities at an affordable price "
  • Trulia User
"It’s downtown. There are a lot of things to do when there isn’t a pandemic, and a lot of problems. Street folks are a way of life."
