Read what parents are saying about Ninth Street SchoolMy daughter has been there since the 2nd grade. Each teacher she bonded with and the really teach as a community. Mr Simpson's dedication to excellance as principle and her genuine care for the kids show in how he appoaches discipline and interactions with each student. He know name's parent back stories . Our daughter graduates this year and we will greatly miss Ms. Kim, Ms. Johnson, Mr Gil, Ms Sandaval, and Ms. Wang. Thank you for you advacacy for my child's well being and the willingness to go above and beyond the call of duty to enhance my child's academic career.
Posted by a parent on 5/18/2017well the school has a reputation for being a school for the homeless kids! but hey all kids deserve an education regardless! a new principal is in much better she listens to parents concerns offers parents workshops and programs so we can understand our kids grades and help them! she is on top of things seems, strict with all kids, shows no preference for the african American kids! it has improved it's API it's increasing. good teachers not all but all schools have them! many parents bring their kids too late and make lame excuses etc. office people are nice and helpful.

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI attended San Pedro Elementary more than twenty years ago. My son was enrolled in their preschool program last year and my daughter currently attends their SRLDP program. My nephews and nieces have also graduated from this school and now attend a Magnet High School. I have nothing but praise for this school. The principal and dedicated staff have turned the school into one of LAUSD's best schools in South Los Angeles. Through hard work and the belief that all children can succeed, they have become a model for other schools to follow. I commend Mr. Carreno, school principal, for his great leadership, dedicated teachers, and friendly office staff for their wonderful work.Parent Review9y ago - Twentieth Street Elementary School

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI love 20th street ! My mom went to 20th street when she was a kid , and she loved it so much that she enrolled me there as well. I started 20th as a preschooler and i stayed all the way till the 5th grade. All these reviews don't sound like the 20th I remember. I remember the staff being so involved with the students and their parents. I also remember staying after school with LA's Best. It was like a big family ! I haven't visited 20th street since 2009 and I'm sure things have changed ever since.Other Review9y ago - St. Turibius Elementary School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school is very welcoming and offers before and after care for parents who have difficulty finding childcare during their work hours. The tuition is very affordable and there are lots of grants and scholarship opportunities. The school just received major upgrades in technology and the building has been renovated.Teacher Review10y ago - Abram Friedman Occupational

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageAbraham Friedman Occupational Center has too many unqualified instructors. The shop classes don't accept real work requests from the public. They only practice on existing structures in the classroom, mannequins in the beauty school, and dummy cars in auto shop.Too many of the instructors have no writing skills. They don't fill out documents correctly. They can't keep records. This means that even if you did learn something, you probably won't get a valid certificate or proof of training for it. This means that they might require you to perform extra, unnecessary hours. They don't help you get your licence for your trade and they don't care if you can't get it. It could be because of their improper documentation they provided upon graduation, they will make you wait half a decade for it, blaming you all the way. They don't take responsibility for their actions. They act like they, personally, will get sued. They don't care about justice or equality. They take care of themselves, first. This goes all the way up to headquarters. There's no due process so you don't matter. Student Review4mo ago - Para Los Ninos Charter School
