Description

Virtual Tour: http://3663.webs.com .....Designed by celebrated architect Henry L. Jekel in 1925, this spacious 4,096 square foot, 5 bedroom, 3.5 bath estate, was built in the Spanish Mission Colonial style, and is majestically situated on nearly an acre of the sprawling slopes of Little Mount Rubidoux, in the prestigious and historic heights neighborhood nicknamed, "Banker's Row" (just west of the Famous Mission Inn Hotel). Lovingly and carefully underwent a more than $300,000 restoration in 2012, while maintaining it's original old world charm and character. New paint (inside and out). Every door & window was restored or re-fabricated. All door & window hardware was meticulously stripped of many paint layers, and refinished. Completely new landscaping, & landscape irrigation/sprinkler system. All new electrical, and new copper plumbing throughout. Fully networked CAT6 wall jacks in every room, with in wall data & coax. The data center is located in a closet of one of the upstairs bedrooms. Complete double security system, with over 50 zones. Complete re-roof was done, using the recycled (original) 1925 roof tiles. Large front porch, with original solid wood front door opens to a lovely formal entry foyer with original tiger oak floors (found throughout). To the right is the formal dining room that has built-in, glass-front buffet/china cupboard & small closet style butler's pantry. The dining room also has french doors that lead to the circular driveway. The formal living room has wooden beams & great symmetry, adorned with a massive fireplace, flanked by large original windows & two sets of French doors facing the courtyard. The formal living room also features antique wrought iron sconces & chandelier. Adjoining the formal living room, is the den/media room, which has a second (tiled) fireplace & has 4 iron sconces surrounding the room. The entire house has amazing original built-in screens in the window & door frames that roll down. Views of the city lights, Downtown Riverside, The Mission Inn & Mount Rubidoux. The expanded, eat-in kitchen features updated glass-faced cabinetry, new Brazilian soapstone counter tops & hand-made over-sized sink, large island with built-in cook top, & all matching professional stainless steel appliances. Guest room & bath downstairs is perfect for live-in nanny or overnight guests. Upstairs, the master suite features two walk-in closets. The master bath features a custom frame-less walk in shower with two shower heads (one of which is a 10 inch rain head), hand-held shower and tiled bench seat. The second upstairs bathroom also features a frame-less stand-up shower, and a full soaking bath tub. All four of the upstairs bedrooms are large, with spacious walk-in closets. One room has an attached, fully enclosed, fully screened sleeping porch/bonus room, that is currently being used as a child's playroom. The upstairs hallway features oversized (original) floor to ceiling cedar closets! Off the upstairs hallway is a large balcony that looks down on the courtyard. The back yard offers four terraced levels of entertaining. The first tier is highlighted by the flagstone-paved courtyard that leads up to the grassy knoll and barbeque area (located on the second tier). The third tier is complimented by a large cabana/pavilion with a beautiful over-sized iron chandelier & completely renovated pool and spa oasis, featuring multicolored LED lighting in the water! The upper tier boasts an extended outdoor seating area, fountain, and fireplace! This is resort living at it's finest! There are four fountains located throughout the property. Brand new three zone Central HVAC. 2-car garage. This wonderful estate has Riverside Structure of Merit #59 and is eligible for huge tax benefits through the Mills Act.

"Heading to the main streets there are many cars that don’t check when turning. Traffic can be a con if your pet likes to run off. "
  • Lucila Luna
"I don’t have anything to say, I think everyone is aware of their surroundings and that’s what I taught my children. "

  • Trulia User
"I've lived in quite a few cities in SoCal and this neighborhood is the best experience I've had. I moved here with my young son in 2018 and don't plan on leaving anytime soon. Not only is the scenery beautiful but it's family oriented, safe to walk at night, and the schools are amazing. the homes are vintage and have won Neighborhood of the Year many times. I am happy to call Downtown Riverside my home. "
  • Trulia User

"I HAVE LIVED DOWNTOWN RIVERSIDE FOR 21 YEARS. IT CAN BE A VERY SCARY AREA. CRIME IS HIGH. DRUG ARE EVERY WHERE. THINGS CAN CHANGE FROM OK TO BAD IN SECONDS. "

"they would like Rubidoux mountain and the park. The park is also well lit at night and has a nice track."
  • Trulia User
"Quiet and friendly neighborhood. Family and pet inclusive. Would recommend area to anyone searching for a new home."
  • Norma M.
"Grew up in the area but recently moved. Money for property being rented is waay to high for an area infested with homeless, drugs addicts which leads to a lot of break ins."
  • TS
"While some of the homes are redone inside, the neighborhood is still what it is. The rent is very high (as in $400 more than it should be) and not worth it."
  • Darren G. K.
"Quiet and friendly neighborhood. Family and pet inclusive. Would recommend area to anyone searching for a new home."
  • Ellismariejennifer
"there is to many cars and noise I would think it would bug the dogs I know it bugs me all the time I don't have any dogs though"
  • Falsexletters
"Dogs are always being walked in this neighborhood. There are plenty of places to walk to, there can be a lot of traffic during business hours, so it might be a little more dangerous to walk a dog around these times."
  • Annie
"easily access 91, 60, 215. RCH is 5 minutes away, kaiser riverside is 25, and corona regional medical center is 35 minutes."
  • Michelle F.
"beautiful neighborhood with such character in the architecture. great mix of people and made forever friends with some of my neighbors on Prospect Hill. "
  • Michelle F.
"music events, street markets, bars restaurants galore! great mix of age/ethnicity/economic background. "
  • Michelle F.
"living downtown you get to be on the forefront of change and the evolution of a city core. it makes you connect with your community and I love the beauty that the diversity gives a neighborhood. "
  • Salgado h.
"A lot of homeless people and they come in our yard and take showers with our hose they also sometimes sleep in our driveway "
  • Erica O.
"Walking distance from Downtown Riverside; location of mission inn antique stores resturance bars and coffee houses. Also very close to unique and artistic park where you could walk to Rubidoux Mountain. R'mountain is a grate place to hike many go up for a nice fresh view up the mountain to see the city lights and unique view. And if your not a walker you could always go though the Santana Bike trail and test your self how far you could go. It's an active location and could always find something to do; with friendly a neighborhood everybody is welcomed "
