I wish that I had not ignored the school's report card and decided to take a chance on the choice program. My twice-exceptional child started the year with high hopes but received no assistance in fitting in or finding their place. When my child faced bullying, the school offered no meaningful support or intervention. The social-emotional well-being of unique learners is entirely overlooked here. 4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis is our first year here and so far it’s just ok. I would say most of the teachers there show great concern for our child. There are the select few who have used discriminating words in a lesson in another language ( believing that since it’s in another language it can’t be offensive). We reported it to the AP. I must say our child had expressed concerns for possible retaliation for saying something after hearing from several other students that that’s what happens when students speak up. The teacher did let the students know that someone said something but did not treat our child any different. We still would like to thank the staff and all the teachers for all their hard work throughout the year, it is not lost on us what a rewarding and difficult job it is to deal with children at this age.Parent Review4y ago - Northwestern High School
