About this House

Sunny and bright, recently renovated home in a fantastic, very family-friendly east side neighborhood two short blocks from the beach! Four bedrooms, two baths, maple floors throughout entire home. Two level back deck, quaint front porch to sit and listen to the seagulls and waves or to watch your children play with the many other neighborhood kids. In July, 2015, updated electric wiring and plumbing, completely renovated kitchen with new maple hardwood flooring, maple cabinetry with pull out shelves, quiet-close drawers and quartz countertops from Schwalbach Kitchens, new stainless steel appliances. Completely renovated upstairs bathroom, new maple hardwood floors, maple cabinetry and marble countertop from Schwalbach Kitchens, new shower and bath installation, new electric and plumbing. Entire home was repainted with no VOC paint and all hardwood floors were refinished with an eco-friendly, low VOC coating. The four walk-in closets were replaced with new shelving. Large trees looming over the house were cut down for safety and to reveal beautiful evening sunsets and a neighbor’s gorgeous landscaping.

    "This is a safe neighborhood, well maintained properties, nestled into the foothills of Marquette Mountain. Some lots abut a green strip with frequent sightings of deer and a variety of migratory birds during the summer months. Downtown is more than a short walk but is a reasonable bike ride away (warm months). Otherwise public transport is available from the front door. Snow plowing is excellent on Altamont and you can always get out during winter if you keep the foot of your driveway clear. Marquette has just the right amount of tourism to support a variety of sporting events and festivals during all seasons but not so much tourism that it feels like a congested bigger tourist area like Traverse City. There are a least three local micro-brewries, several good restaurants, and always entertainment, especially on weekends. Marquette is growing just enough to support continuous improvements and developments of its parks and attractions and there are at least two (three star type) hotels and along with a number of nice chain hotels for visitors. Downtown becomes almost magical in the wintertime with its snow-capped sandstone facades and "lit-up" trees. Being situated on a bay of Lake Superior makes Marquette one the the most picturesque small towns in the Midwest. "
